Biggest Screw up!

Here is my Island Batik project for next month!!

I have been saving it...had it done early....

I thought I could relax

NOT

I had made this for the August Blog hop but the full information didn't come out until after I had this finished.

Isn't my little hula girl cute?

                                                    Here is a close of of some of the quilting...

I got the hula girl off the free coloring book page here: and just enlarged it.

Even tho this is a great project and fits in the theme which we didn't have yet.

The theme will be seaside....

but wrong fabric....

Biggest screw up ever!!!

The main fabrics used here was "Lavish" and some Desert Rose by Island Batik.

Truly it is not the end of the world.....great project,

lots of fun.

just have to get back to the drawing board and come up with

another project.

I have to admit, I have the most fun when I am coming up with something of my own.

It is like the world stands still and heaven forbid if my husband wants supper during one of these "Aha" moments.

I will be using Tradewind fabrics.  I love these fabrics, they remind me of Samoa and the hotel there is called Tradewinds...so fitting name for sure.

FUN AMONG CHAOS

So much going on over here at Bejeweled....

not much sewing but some.

A friend gave me some tomatoes and so I decided to can them....oh my gosh.

I so love to can.

But I hate tomatoes and truly hated smelling them, almost lost my cookies a few times

Have I told you how I hate tomatoes???

Truly hate them.  I will eat spaghetti sauce, ketchup but if they have chunks in them.....

just can't do it.

Then I purchased some peaches

I could can ever day.....  

made some jelly

What to can now???

The fabrics I used were Island Batik's Lavish

 and Deseret rose for the flowers and handles

. Can I just say that I love this fabric and I also know that I am a broken record.  I took this picture out on our tree stump.

What gorgeous fabric! I think you may be making a table mat with umbrellas? Just guessing.

Thank you to all who came by and left a comment. 

 The weather is so beautiful outside so I want to show you my potatoes, tomatoes, strawberries, and cucumbers.  Truly April Showers did me good.

I don't think you can call me a farmer or a person with a green thumb but I know you can call me lazy.  I put everything in pots.    My strawberries are in rain gutters (thanks to my husband for the construction).  Tomatoes on the side as well as cucumbers in pots.  

 What I am really proud of is my potatoes.  I saw a youtube and couldn't wait to try it out.  So far so good.  I prepared the bottom with rocks and paper.  Put a layer of soil, then placed the potatoes.  Added soil on top and just waited for them to grow.

Believe me when I tell you that it didn't take long for them to grow.

When they sprouted up about 4 inches I added more soil on top.  I have done this process five times now.  They just sprung up again and tomorrow I will add more soil on top.  I am so excited.

The hardest part is waiting to see if I have some good potatoes.

 Here are my strawberries....I am so happy since last year they did not do too good.
