VALENTINES - SEW SIMPLICITY BLOCK

Today I spent my afternoon making this Valentines topper.  I just love this topper and you can find it in my craftsy shop on the sidebar.  The fabrics are from Island Batik "Full Bloom", the background fabric is from another source.

Then as most of you know I am part of the Sew Simplicity BOM  hop, this block is is the bonus
block 1, I loved it so much I decided to just make a quilt from this one block.  So far I have 4 completed blocks and a ton of half square triangles to square up.

Which brings me to Jacquelynne Steves Sew Simplicity.  She is hosting a catch up day Saturday the 10th. on facebook, instagram, and her blog.  There will be a lot of fun surprises, chatting, and catching up if you are behind.  So won't you join us?

It is suppose to be 18 degrees tonight...I say I say...burrrrrr

 What fun is that?

Be sure to go to her blog to win the Grand Prize, the other prizes are done locally so all I want from you is to comment and tell me what inspires you.

Now for a little inspiration of my own.  I am laughing at how big the pictures are.  Blogger will not let me download pictures so I went to photo bucket.

So....I purchased about six sets of these towels last year at JoAnn's after Christmas sale.  I believe they cost me less than two bucks for both.

I think I know why they didn't sale.....BORING!!!!

Just a little fun fabric, Heat N Bond and you are ready to go....pick your pattern off the fabric, cut around it, add some heat n bond...then cut it out in detail.

Add a little strip to the bottom and now you have Not boring!!!

BORING!!!!!

 photo 089_zps0fcb3abc.jpg

I wouldn't say so...

Now for this one I was going to get my go cutter and make a bow....but I got lazy.

I know which box they are in but tooooo lazy to go digging (in process of moving)...but wouldn't it be cute with a bow on the side?

A bow a bove the ornament?  Lazy again.

This one is just a half inch strip down the side of the towel and across the bottom.  I just did a little free hand ornament...I really should add a small bow above it...still can...nothing is written in stone.

photo 084_zpsceb685f9.jpg Remember to enter this giveaway just let me know what inspires you!!!  Jacaquelynne will send you a surprise gift and I will send you these two books to help in the inspiration process.

It just doesn't get any better than that...two packages in the mail.....who doesn't like mail?

WHAT DOES A GUESSING GAME, JURY DUTY, TREE OF LIFE HAVE TO DO WITH EACH OTHER??? Two wonderful giveaways

Absolutely NOTHING!!!!

Except one was keeping me from doing what I wanted to be doing.

Went to Jury Duty yesterday and sat all day long waiting for my name to be called to go to panel....it was never called. Sorry if you hear my elation in that...

It was interesting to see how the system works or as much as the system I saw working.

The judge led us in the Pledge of Allegiance, I thought that was pretty interesting.

There were 600 of us in one room. It is also interesting to note that with all those people in one room it was very quiet and respectful

. Oh well.....

 Next....

can you guess what I am making???? This is the front (haven't finished meandering it)

This is the back?????  I am really quite excited....but dog gone it...I have to go grocery shopping today!!!

Tree of life I am working on  trust me, it looks a lot better when you see it up close and personal.

Next is a giveaway Jacquelynne Steves is having, looks like a very fun one...go check out her new blog while you are at it.

Here is another wonderful giveaway  Share and Win from the Quiltsy Team

I finished this octopus quilt this week.  I know, another one???  I have a customer that likes to give these to her friends that are having baby girls.

I love how I did the bow on this one.

I have started another baby quilt and will show that when it is finished.

I went and measured the dog and cat quilts to see if they met the criteria of "Happy Town" Contest and it does not....so if you are thinking of making a quilt, make sure you meet the measurement requirements and have at least 80% of the fabric "Happy Town" fabric.

Had company for Valentines, made homemade rolls, lasagna, cookies......I am stuffed like a tick. Hope you all had an amazing Valentines Day!!

You and I both know that working with fabric is such a pleasure, working with good quality fabric is even more of a pleasure.

So...this is what I created with her fabrics. The only fabric that is not Henry Glass is the white. How stinking cute are these????  Got out my trusty Accuquilt Go cutter and just went to town.

What an appropriate name for these fabrics "Happy Town"....just using them makes one happy....happy happy joy joy!!

That orange is just to die for....that dog and cat fabric....ummmm ummmm good. It is all savory. As always the quilts are prettier up close and personal.
I do hope that some of you will enter the "Happy Town" contest.  Maybe I will just send these to them?

I have not decided what I am going to do with these quilts.

If you also notice on my sidebar, I have a spot for Green Fairy Quilts Charity. Every since I found out about their Charity, I have been a fan. So....these may go to them.  If you have time to watch the video, it would be well worth it to do so.

 Now I am torn.....

Then my friend Gene Black does a charity drive during Christmas for the teen shelter (Angel Quilts)...but I think these are too small for that.
