TUMBLER QUILT.

I was up bright and early Saturday. Tumbled out of bed and began my day with meandering this Tumbler Quilt. The Tumblers are cut out from the Accuquilt Go Cutter. (needs a binding and will be done...whohoooo).

Infact, if you are wanting to do one of these quilts and don't have the die or Go Cutter, you can go to Inchworm Fabrics.
Jeanette is having a giveaway of tumblers cut out of Western Fabrics.

This quilt is 78 1/2" by 65" and was quilted on my Horizon (Janome). This machine makes doing this a breeze. I will confess I had trouble with the tension and had to adjust it. Even took it to the shop to have them take a look at it. Once it got going, there was no stopping us.

This Horizon has a stop and start button.....it takes a little getting use to but oh my goodness....it is awesome when you are trying to quilt....it is almost as good as a stitch regulator, instead of trying to control your foot and hands, you only have to worry about your hands....

WHAT GETS YOU OUT OF BED IN THE MORNINGS?

I am not a morning person.....I can stay up late and just be happy as a little pea in a pod. But....to get up in the morning is a chore.

So....this morning I was having a hard time getting motivated until......the light bulb went off. The washer is free......and now is the best time to do my bathroom rugs.....

Oh you thought it was going to be sewing that got me out of bed. HA!!!!! Nope...my bathroom rugs.....

They are outside drying as we speak.

Crazy huh???? What gets you out of bed?

Today I am working on Service Banners.
Just click on the "Service Banners" above and it will take you to a site that will explain it to you.

I have one hanging in my window with two stars on it. Meaning I have two service men in the army.

I am working on one to teach to the young women when they go to camp. I cut my stars out with my Go cutter...easy....easy...easy... Now back to what I was doing.

Just finished it.

When you think of me today, think of my clean bathroom rugs....AHHHHHH

MEET HOOTCINTA THE OWL! HOOT HOOT!!

Upon visiting Buttonmad I found this cute cute tutorial for this owl, you can find it here. Yes, I know (if you read my post yesterday) this is pitfall #3.

I am always looking for projects for the Young women and I think we are going to do this this Wednesday.
In keeping with the spirit of using ButtonMad's tutorial, I put one of their buttons on the bum....

Now this bum looks about as broad as mine.....can you guess why? Hootcinta can not stay out of the M & M's....
GET OUT OF THOSE.........................those are MINE!!!!

Trying to make up for it by lifting the fabric cutter...... Silly owl....doesn't she know it will take more than a few ups and downs to work off those M & M's?

I guess I should take my own advice.....

I did a few more bags....

Maybe if I go up and down the stairs a few times I can have some more M & M's...... ???

THE PITFALLS OF BLOGGING!!!!

Someone has to tell it like it is....and I guess that someone is me.

Pitfall #1

When going to a blog be very careful, tell yourself you have enough projects or you will fall into that endless pit of wanting to do too many things and never get anything done.

Example #1

You see this basket? Of Course you do! Well...I saw this over at Jane's Fabric and Quilts. It is suppose to be a stitchery, you can check hers out by clicking on her name. The actual design is by Madame Samm.

Well....I just loved the strawberries and I stewed over it for days....and then saw it again and decided to do a stitchery...but when I got the actual design I thought it would be amazing in applique. So....Off I went on another tangent.....

I do not like the fabric I chose for the ribbon, it has black lines in it and conflicts with the black blanket stitching...thinking of taking it out.

Pitfall #2

When going to blogs...tell yourself that you have enough toys and tools of the trade, you do not need one more thing....tell yourself NO! NO! NO! NO more!

Example #2

I saw this while visiting Madame Samm via Quilt Taffy.
Quilt Taffy is another one of those blogs that I just love to visit but....I should have seen it coming....a TRAP!!! Oh yes, when she said to visit Madame Samm...I should have just said NO! But I went here.

Corrie did a wonderful tutorial on using this glue....and well...I just couldn't help myself. I ordered two bottles. I will have to confess, I just love this glue and I think it will make my binding quilts so much easier as well.

The moral of this story......BEWARE!!!! HIDE the CREDIT CARD......FORGET your PAYPAL code......I am just warning all of you...don't go blaming me!!

Disclamier: This is not a paid advertisement for Madame Samm, Quilt Taffy, Jane Fabrics, just lots of creativity wrapped up in a fun time!

Another Towel from the towel swap I am in. Thanks Betsy, looks so wonderful.

I finished quilting this wall hanging, maybe I will have it's binding on by July? I can't seem to find any fabric that matches.....what ever shall I do? (Wink!! Wink!!)

I machine quilted it with just a regular foot. It is hanging from a kitchen chair that is why it looks a bit off.

Toiletry Bag - Cosmetic Bag - Tomato - Tamato - Pecan....Pacan...it is all the same!

My son, James ,left yesterday (Friday) for college in Hawaii but before he left he asked if I had any of those bags like I made him for Christmas. I said you mean those cosmetic bags..... oooopssss.... let's rephrase that toiletry bag (he wouldn't use the bag if I called it a cosmetic bag).

I told him I could make him one real quick...he said in two hours....I said twenty minutes....

What????....

he said yes....(mom is in cloud nine)....

he wants me to make him something...he actually liked his Christmas present.... and my husband thought they wouldn't

So me being the mom I am, I jumped on that like a fly on a hot cow patty.....oh yesss... you heard me!

And so here it is.......He likes green. Couldn't find the pattern so my webbing is too long...but I ain't taking it out. (Ain't is a word, look it up)

Had some left over, made this little bag.... my swirls are not the best but I said twenty minutes so I had to hurry....HA!!! I could not have planned those geckos better if I tried.

Then I had so much fun meandering and doing swirls that I did this bag....nothing serious, just goofing..

IN NO PATICULAR ORDER - FUN STUFF!!

I won a giveaway over at Jane's Fabrics, lucky me!!! Thanks Jane... By the way, she has some awesome polka dots in her store....just saying it might warrant a look see.

I won a giveaway over at Robin's,
Thanks Robin, I so love the patterns!

The Average Quilter had a giveaway. She was giving away a man's wallet. She said family could join in the giveaway (that would be me, cos she is my sister) but in the end she said she would send all family members a wallet. My son David loves it. She did a tutorial on how to make them here.

Thanks Margaret....I plan on making a few of these soon.

I belong to a towel swap...here is this months towel....I don't know if I have been showing them, if not, am I bad!!! Cute!!

I made an order to Inchworm Fabrics

That is where the panel came from below and a few other fabrics (I stopped showing the fabrics I buy because I just figure you all tire of them)....anyways, she sent me this cute pillow. Thanks Jeanette

Then I just had to say this.... Cindy over at Just Cindy made my octopus pattern....I just love what she did, you can find it here.

She was worried that I would be upset that she didn't do it exactly like my pattern....oh my gosh...I find it flattering that she just wanted to do it.....and adding your own touches to something makes it yours.... Thanks Cindy for making my day!
(sorry, no picture....you have to go to her site to see it...)
