CHRISTMAS IS THE TIME FOR GIVING AND THE ISLAND BATIK AMBASSADORS ARE IN THE MOOD

This month's challenge for the Island Batik Ambassadors is to make something (anything) for Charity.

When I think of Charity as in giving I am thinking of like March of Dimes, the Hospitals, Linus etc...

I was lazy, I wanted something near enough to me that I could take it straight over and not have to worry about forgetting....

So the thing that popped into my mind was the Wesely House where my mother is living.

It is an assisted living place.

When they get enough items they have an auction.

The residents get paper money throughout the week.

Winning at Bingo, Finding the Elf on the shelf are just a few ways to earn this money.

Then they have an auction.

All the ladies love my mother's little puppy.  So I decided to make a puppy and donate it to the auction.

I was so hoping you would not notice the dust on the table (blushing here)...I guess I could scoot the dog over the top and take care of that table.

I just love the various Island Batik fabrics and who doesn't love pink???

I am sure there is a store near you that sells Island Batiks to find out just go to their site and click on find store.  I know you will love the fabrics like I do.

PUPPY LOVE

Don't anyone drop your teeth,

fall over dead....

I know it is a shock that I have posted more in the last two weeks than I have for several months.

I have made another puppy.

This is for a baby shower, the navy fabric is off the PJ's of this gals father who passed away years ago.

I know, I put buttons on this buggar...but he is not suppose to be a toy, just for display.

Bowl Love

Isn't this felted bowl just adorable????

I am now the lucky owner of this bowl.

Need I say that I LOOOOOVVVVE

IT!!

Thanks so much Barbara, will cherish it always.

Stuffed Puppies

Anything lime green  I am all over it....

found this panel at Hancocks....what a fun baby quilt.

I loved it so much that I went back and brought two more panels.

Started making these little puppies.  This one is made from my favorite muumuu that lost it's luster.

This is my first one....  This pattern is from  March 2014 Sewing World Magazine.

It took me forever (probably because I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer) but took me forever to figure out where to get the actual pattern page.  It comes to you digital and the pattern sheet is not sent with this.  You have to go to Sewing World click on pattern and then at the bottom page three.

Then (boy I have issues)....  I found the patterns but could not figure out what the base was.  So frustrating.  Then....I found the base on pattern insert 3.  Sheweee....  but I finally got it.  So it you are going to order this...you can learn from my time and frustrations.

This is sooooo cute, easy, and fun!!!.  Doesn't take long to make at all.

One thing I will suggest (like you asked for my suggestion)....reinforce your stitches around the neck and around the curve between the two paws and back stitch all of your seams especially where the tail seam is...just saying....will cause you less stress.
