If you have been visiting my blog, you will know that I have been working on "Starry Night"
Last week I was not able to sew any, was busy babysitting while my son helped my husband put in the metal post. I helped with the heavy log post but the metal ones I was not able to help with. So my son and his family came for four day. During that time, there was no sewing for me except that I was able to cut out all of the remaining blocks which helped a ton this week.
Isn't he cute???
I used so many different batiks. Java Batiks from Inchworm fabrics, Island Batiks, Batiks I have hoarded over the years from Hawaii and Marshalls.
Guess what???? Come on guess????
The top is done!!!!!!
I am so excited. This was such a fun quilt.
I will show you when I can clear up a space to lay it out or hang it up. Or maybe when it is totally finished????
This next is the backing for a king size quilt. I had some left over stars. You are actually looking at the wrong side of the backing. I had a time working with all of that fabric. I was totally pooped when I got it all done and thrown over the machine. I just need to load it. I have to tell ya. I was not happy when I went to my long arm. Some of the fabrics that are attached to the poles were off.....I have my grandsons to thank for that. Good thing none of them were around...HaHa
It is a rainy rainy week and cold.

Those animals are adorable!! :0)
I'm cracking up knowing your little grandsons took the fabric off of your longarm. What in the world were they thinking?
Congratulations on getting your top finished. I'm looking forward to seeing how you quilt this amazing quilt. Very special and I love all those batiks you selected.
The batiks add such depth to the little animals....I really love the camel.
Such cute blocks! I think the sheep is my favorite at the moment but they are all so cute!
These blocks are SO CUTE!!! Oh, those bad boys, though! (taking off the leaders) lolol I would not have been amused, either.
That is the CUTEST quilt. Looking forward to seeing it in full. I can imagine that you were not the happiest quilter with those little guys.
I think it is amazing how fast you are putting together Starry Night, it's a keeper! Grands can be mischievous can't they! I remember my son when he was young, he took a scissors to a machine knit sweater I had just finished for a customer. I was not a happy person!
I have been watching your progress on Instagram too. Awesome job, your quilt is going to be absolutely fabulous.
Barb, your Starry Night quilt is so much fun. I can hardly wait to see the finish on it.
That backing will make the finished quilt so nice. I love it when there is a design on the back also.
I think this is coming together quickly. It takes me forever to get a large piece such as this moved along. My dislike of handling large material doesn't help. But this is going to be another wonderful project for sure.
So stinking cute!! Love those animals!
