COME LET US ADORE HIM!!

If you have been visiting my blog, you will know that I have been working on "Starry Night"

Last week I was not able to sew any, was busy babysitting while my son helped my husband put in the metal post.  I helped with the heavy log post but the metal ones I was not able to help with.  So my son and his family came for four day.  During that time, there was no sewing for me except that I was able to cut out all of the remaining blocks which helped a ton this week.

  Isn't he cute???

I used so many different batiks.  Java Batiks from Inchworm fabrics, Island Batiks, Batiks I have hoarded over the years from Hawaii and Marshalls.

Guess what????  Come on guess????

The top is done!!!!!!

I am so excited.  This was such a fun quilt.

I will show you when I can clear up a space to lay it out or hang it up.  Or maybe when it is totally finished????

This next is the backing for a king size quilt.  I had some left over stars.  You are actually looking at the wrong side of the backing.  I had a time working with all of that fabric.  I was totally pooped when I got it all done and thrown over the machine.  I just need to load it.  I have to tell ya.  I was not happy when I went to my long arm.  Some of the fabrics that are attached to the poles were off.....I have my grandsons to thank for that.  Good thing none of them were around...HaHa

It is a rainy rainy week and cold.

ZAPPY SCRAPPY STRIPY KIND OF DAY!

I showed you these strips that Island Batik sent to me and was trying to decide what to do with them.

Well...

What I didn't realize is that some of the strips were folded...which made 3 1/2" strips....changed the whole playing field.

Made a rail fence.  The outer purple border is from the fabric line "Strawberry Fields Forever"....just love this name Island Batik picked out for this line.

As I was sewing these strips together...I just kept saying to myself  "I just love Island Batiks...I just love Island Batiks"...as I was cutting them.

The last of the family blocks...    You can find this basket pattern here called"Basket of Chips"

You can find this pattern here  called "Love in a Mist"

I used my scraps from Island Batik for this block from the line of "Raindrops"...gosh I sure love the names they pick out for their fabric lines.  The white background is just some random scraps.

Since there were just two names left in our family we decided to just do the two blocks in one month....so I am done for the year....  Next year my niece will be in charge of what directions we go in this Family block of the month.

ISLAND BATIKS======NO GRASS GROWING HERE

As some of you know, I received a package from Island Batik....these lovelies were in the box.

My mind just would not shut up....  I had to pull out these fabrics and do something with them last night.
So I made some nine patches.  (okay....some of you are saying BORING)!!!

But you know, I just couldn't leave it with a nine patch!!!

How about a few geckos?

Husband and I are busy fixing up our rooms and so today is the day that all my boxes will finally be emptied, things will be put away and later I will organize my house better but for now....Peace will reign over my house.  Six months in the makings....

What are you working on this week?
It has been pretty quiet over here at Bejewels.... Hubby got sick a few weeks ago and decided to share it with me and now I decided to share it with my son...it is the gift that keeps on giving.  I know....you can do without that kind of giving...well...so could I.

Hopefully, we are on the mend but that means slow progress on my sewing room.  My poor husband keeps slugging away trying so hard to get my room done (which is now done) but can't show a picture because it looks like someone threw up fabric in the room.  My mother came by and said...Oh my...what are you doing to do with all of this stuff.  I kinda chuckled because I hadn't a clue.  I will have to say that my husbands equipment was still int here because he is working on his office which is off of my room.  So...hey....tomorrow....and hopefully, tomorrow will come.

Can't leave you with a blank post so in honor of Batiks, I will re show you this.  Accuquilt just picked it up a few months ago under their patterns.
