STARTING THE YEAR OUT WITH A SUNSHINEY BANG!!

IMG_2327
I am at a quandry….since I purchased these fabrics last week does that count as a 2014 purchase when I got them yesterday?  Purchased from Connecting Threads, no rhyme or reason to the buy, got it just because I lobbbbed it.

I had told myself that I was not going to buy any fabric this year except for backings.

Was that a snicker I heard?

  Not very nice of you.

I can do it…really I can.

I tried this once before and lasted nine days.

My husband told me not to buy this fabric, I think when he goes around the house and sees fabric shoved in all of the closets, the boxes in the other room....  Well….I think he thinks I don’t need any more???

Don’t ask me what is up with that?  Need no more fabric?  That is a curse word

Anyways….I must have been in a sunshiney mood because most of the fabric I purchased were orange or yellow.
Did you see the batiks?  Ummmmm Ummmm delicious.
Reminds me of the sprays when you are peeling an orange in anticipation of the actual slice itself.

I hope all of you are having a good year so far…we are three days into this new year and if all goes like every year we will be whittling this year away into a blurr.

Here is hoping that all of you will have a sunshine of a year but do remember to stop and smell the roses.

Don't the men in our lives understand that we need to balance out our stash. We are not just buying fabrics because we want them, it is just we need it to go with what we have. Yah, right. Love your fabric and you cannot have enough orange.

Pretty, pretty colors...enjoy them and I know they will make your pretty quilts sparkle!

Purchases only count when you actually pay for them so you are safe....this time. I guess you just need a bit more practice in shopping from your stash and maybe staying off the fabric websites for awhile.

The colors look like popsicles. Who doesn't need the flavors of summer to brighten things up at this time of year. It's that orange polka dot fabric that's bringing a smile to my face.

I agree with Robin, purchased in 2013, so, yep, you are safe. For now!!

I started my fabric diet on the 1st. Had to order a few things on the 31st though. Had to stock up a wee bit.

what is a girl to do when the fabric calls her name? why add it to her stash.. LOL That is my story and I am sticking to it. I bought some lovely batiks just before Christmas from CT because the price was just too hard to resist- 4:00 a yard .. I got some beauty pieces to add to ever growing stash.. Love your sunshiny fabrics- hope that the New Year continues to be sunshiny bright...
Regards,
Anna

Definitely counts as a "last year" purchase.....definitely. :)

I think these beautiful fabrics count as purchases for 2013.

For me, when DH comments that he thinks I have too much fabric I work up a project idea and ask for his help in picking fabrics. I show him some of my choices. He is better with color than I am and will tend to tell me to go see if I can find XYZ and when I can't he tells me it is time to buy more fabric. when I can find it in my stash (and not have to make a trip to the store, he agrees my stash is a good investment). I have to do this (involve him in fabric selection for a quilt) several times a year, or I tend to hear he complain I have way too much fabric.

Those prints and colors will surely put you in a happy mood; tell your honey that makes the purchase priceless...see if that works, lol

You definitely bought them in 2013, so you've kept to your resolution. I love the colours, specially the orange ones.

Delivery does not count as purchase! Those are some lovely fabrics you chose...can't wait to see what you do with them...

It's all beautiful and you needed them. They count for last year since that's when you bought them, but if there's a betting pool about when you buy more fabric this year, I'm in.

They are lovely Barb. I have never purchased fabrics from connecting thread. They would look lovely with embroideries

My goal (although I probably will fail miserably) is to only buy solids to go with my stash fabrics.
(reads as solids will also be okay) Now if it is an amazing sale forget it! LOL.
I hope your year (and mine too) is filled with lots of sunshiny happy times.

It's gorgeous fabric, and if you bought it last year, then it's last year's fabric; no question about it! ;)

Take care,

Oh Barb, those fabrics look good enough to eat. There's nothing wrong with having more fabric and placing them in cracks and crannies....keeps the cold weather out. At least that's the way I see it....LOL

Beautiful, happy fabrics.

If you ordered in 2013, you purchased in 2013 :) I love that color palette, it is so Spring (she said while shivering in her studio in cold, icy Maryland).

I have declared 2014 the year of no more fabric buying. Well other than fabric for the daughters' clothes. We will see how long that lasts :-)

I'm going to try and not buy unless it's to finish something I've got going and need to finish something, but we'll see how long that last.....
