WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE THIS OUT BUILDING TREASURE

IMG_2316  IMG_2317
This little gem came out of the out building.

It is in rough shape.  My son goes, mom you can sell this….and me…I look at him like he
has just lost him ever loving mind.
Are you nutzzzz boy?????

He ask what I am going to do with it.

Good thing he can not read my mind.
Clean it up of course….use it…make it work.

I have been cleaning out the drawers, tons of roach and bug stuff…nasty..  I will show you the treasures from it
as soon as I clean it up. I can not begin to understand how someone could let this go to ruin like this.

OH that will clean up and be a gem to keep and treasure. Shame it was stored in an outhouse, but I think it can still be restored and look great. What a find.

That is a redeye 66, or redhead - depends on who you ask! I have one that has been converted to a hand crank, and she is my favorite! Visit treadleon.net for more information on how to restore her, and they have an email group you can join to ask questions. Just don't make the same mistake I made when I cleaned my first treadle, do not wash the head with water or the decals will come off! Use straight Murphy's oil soap and sewing machine oil to clean the head. Let me know if you have any questions and I will help you the best I can and for the best price on a treadle belt you can email Cindy at stitchesintime@earthlink.net, just let her know I sent you, and she can get you any parts you need.

It looks like the machines we have which we got from our grandmothers. Is it a Singer?

I love it.....I learned to sew on an old Singer treadle machine!! It brings back lots of memories---I made the most beautiful Barbie things on that old treadle machine---and that was a long time ago!!
