THE GLUE THAT BINDS

So I put my hands to doing another binding this morning.....

If you saw the last post, it will show you how I used Elmer's glue to do a binding. In the video she hand sews the binding on the back. I machine stitched in the ditch on the front to sew the binding on the back.

Confession time:

We all know how I have a need for speed....I just can't help myself....when that foot comes down on tha pedal....there is no holding back...... It is exelerating.........I get in the zone.....

I can feel the wind blowing through my hair.....

my heart races.....

but...

but sometimes....

Sometimes speed is not good...not when you are trying to conceal your stitches....so on this Horizon it has a little button (see the arrows on the side of the machine)...you can move that left for slower speed and right for higher...well....to protect me from myself, I lowered the speed.

Here is the end results....no waves....I just love it

So....for the rest of the day, I got some house work done, organized a few things and then worked on my 13 ugly towels for the towel swap. I actually think I like these towels now, they are growing on me...hopefully, my swappers will let it grow on them as well.

I also decided that I should not post so much, give all of you a break from me ..... so this is a new goal.....

So funny! I love it - I feel the same way when I am sewing a binding - the faster the better. I don't have a speed control on my machine though, I will have to look into that!

If it is what you need to do, go ahead and cut back, but not on our account. Your humor and honesty help me get through the day.

What!!! Less posting, say it isn't so! I comment that your blog has changed my life, well, binding wise anyway, and your answer is to say you're going to blog less. Sigh. I'll shut up now. ;)

PS Your binding is so lovely and flat. You probably just want more time to sit and admire it, right? lol

I think the idea of a speed thingie on the machine is great. As for not blogging so much, , well, we'd miss you, so I don't think that's one of your better decisions :(

They must have designed your machine with you in mind LOL. You will be missed every morning, but I can understand not being on the computer so much. So much more time available for other things :0)

Take a break if you need it for YOU, but don't do it for US. We are enjoying your posts. (even if we fail to comment!)

Cute quilt too!

I use my speed button on my Janome, too. Much easier than trying to remember to not put that foot down!

The only way I can slow down is to control my foot - on my leg that's on the floor pedal, not the machine. That's a neat feature you have. Your quilt looks beautiful.

I too dial the speed down as I tend to have a hammer foot, lol.
finding a blogging balance for me has been hard. But a little less has been more for me lately.

So when you used the machine, you did not find the glue messing with the machine?? What a time saver!! Love the quilt, love the colors! Enjoy your break, we will be here waiting!

The quilt is adorable. I understand where you are coming from. We all need balance...and sometimes this 'computer' can take over our lives!
Take care sweetie!

I love your blog but I must admit I'm not a good commenter. As a blogger myself you would think I'd do better. Agree with Gene stop only for you cause we're all waiting for the next exciting thing.

The need for speed. I heat ya. I have a mark on mine for FMQing. and it is also my regular sewing speed. I'm learning to slow down and enjoy the process... I just wish my patience would catch up. LOL!

Erin moved mine all the way to left (slowest speed). I didn't know that's what she touched. I just thought she broke my machine! Why is it moving so slow!!! Took me awhile to figure it out.

I love the cruise control button for speed on my machine too. Keeps the quilt police away. ;)
Love your posts Barb. I don't always have time to comment, but I do visit with you!
