LET'S "TALK STORY"

Saturday was such a busy day for me. We made our weekly run to the Post Office, then we walked around the airport (it is so beautiful, ocean all the way around) for 2 hours....talk about being tired. I lost the soles (yes, the soles to my water shoes)...so I had two pairs of socks on and then just the soft part of the shoe....I lost them one hour into our walk. Walking over lava rocks, in the ocean, on the beach....and yes, lost them...so I had to walk an hour back without them. Next time I go, I will take pictures and you can see that it truly was very difficult to make it back but very beautiful as well.

Then I had a meeting at 5:00 and afterwards went to dinner with a few friends. But...inbetween the Post Office and before the meeting, I made these two hand towels...the penguin needs eye....

Got the penguin at e-patternCentral.com

The snowflake I got at allpeoplequilt.com

Oh, dear...you had to show a penguin. You know I love penguins....now I'll have to put it on my list to search out that pattern and make something with it. LOL Sorry about the shoes. Are your feet okay after walking that tough area without the shoes??

I love the penguin even if he's eyeless. I hope you didn't cut your feet after you lost the sole of your shoes.

OUCH! Walking on rocks is NOT fun. Oh the hand towels are so cute. What kind of fabric did you use for your snowflake? It looks thick.

Barb seeing pictures of your ocean will be a treat. I see you have the towel fever now. Now I will keep track of yours. LOL

What cute towels! Isn't it funny to make snowy things in the tropics? I live in the deep south, so it feels funny to start putting out little snowmen and snowflakes when we are enjoying 83 degree weather ;-)

The towels are adorable!!! The penguin is so cute even without eyes and the snowflake is wonderful...on the towel. I currently have a yard full of real ones and they are still coming.
Ah well, tis the season for snow!!! Do you machine applique' or hand stitch? I want to learn machine applique' as I have health issues that prevent me from doing hand work anymore. Your walk sounded beautiful! I can't wait to see some photos of the scenery.

The towels look neat, love the cute penguin. If the soles of your shoes took such a beating, how's the poor feet?
