LIFE JUST HAPPENS

Sometimes I long for the days of Samoa.  It seems that  life moved slower there.

Sometimes I just want to jump off the merry go round and let it spin without me.

Fat chance...right?????

So..................when I have time to sew I go all in.

This was last week-end....oh boy....it was fabulous.

There is no sewing this week-end, we have our one grandson.  He is so fun and so adorable that it takes the sting out of not sewing.

Then when night comes, this gal is too pooped to do much.

I will show you what I have been doing in the early hours of the morning.

You see this beautiful fabric???  "Dear William" by Island Batik.

Isn't it just lovely???

In October we have a paper piecing challenge.

We all know that I am an applique kind of gal but hey, I can do other things.

I think????

I searched my quilting books, the internet, and asked my sister if I could borrow anything she had in paper piecing.

I thought I had something but then, it came to me.

I can create my own paper piecing pattern.

So here is a sneak peak.

yes that is all you get for now.

I have about 300 of these to make.  Ok, I didn't count because I don't really know how many I will need, so far 150 but I am not done yet, the quilt is taking a life of it's own.

I have some more paper piecing done besides these but this is all I am going to show you.  You can call me mean or what ever you want...I probably have been called worse.

I get up between 4:30 and 6:00 and get busy and then when the house wakes up I stop.

Hope you all are having an amazing week-end and staying cool, it was 105 today.

We take our little grandson out in the early morning, wear him out til about eleven and then it is indoor time for us.

That little guy is definitely better than sewing..I completely understand the lack of energy after a busy day..

Have fun with the paper piecing. I can do it, but I don't love doing it.

The Grandson is adorable - but then, you already knew that didn't you?

Cute grandson! I have one too. He is a joy and it doesn't bother me too much if he is around and I can't sew.

Admire you thinking of your October project already! I am actually flying for a few hours today and brought a notebook and woke up thinking of planning out the year! But really - I have to stop making it harder than it is - understanding the pieces before a plan, so that I don't have a lot of re-engineering to do. Your grandson is just adorable.

Such a cute grandson. Don't you just love having them. My great grandson comes tonight. I can't wait. Have fun making that block.

I hear you, Sister....I don't miss the bugs or over the top rain downpours, but I sometimes miss the slower pace of Samoa too. Enjoy those grandbaby snuggles.
