WHAT ONE CAN DO WITH HALF SQUARE TRIANGLES!

This is just a small topper made with Island Batik fabric from the Black Opal SS Grouping.

These two fabrics are just gorgeous......

As you can see, these are just half square triangles.  I cut out 3 1/2 squares of each fabric and sewed around the outside of the fabric on all four sides 1/4 inch.  Then I cut them on the diagonal both ways.  Giving me 4 half square triangles.  Easy...then I trimmed the half square triangles down to 2".

Here is an easy you tube to watch to see how this method is done.

Lots of fun working with these awesome fabrics.

Then a few days ago I finished this flimsy

Fun Huh???

I love HSTs. In fact, I belong to a group and we are going to be swapping HSTs to get a nice variety for a scrappy quilt. Who doesn't love Lorelei! Hope you are having a good week.

Barb, you did such a wonderful job with these beautiful "flimsies". I love those half square triangles and your ladies.

I love both your topper and your quilt. The quilt is my favorite. I like the way you framed out the cute ladies. This would look good with embroidery too. I might have to borrow this idea - it is just too cute!! You chose the perfect fabric too. You always make such cute projects!

I love using hst. Did you have any trouble using this method since the edges are on the bias?
