IF ALL ELSE FAILS, READ THE DIRECTIONS!!! and read the directions...

I have been wanting to make this little doll for years.

The other day I decided it was time.

Now there is something about me that is off, I hate reading directions.  I am a visual learner.  This pattern is mostly directions and no pictures.  Gotta have pictures...just gotta.

I didn't let that deter me but...this is what happens when you don't read them good enough.  You have to do things all over again.  After I had stuffed the body I had to take the arms off.   What a pain to try to get these arms back on....

Lucky I had my "Lapel Sticks"....truly....I glued the 1/4 inch seam allowance under and just slipped the arm in....it wasn't a breeze but it certainly was easier.

Here she is all healed over and a head of hair...

Now on a side note but a very important note

He makes and gather quilts for a youth shelter  in his area for Christmas.  If you want to know more about this, go to the above site, just click on Gene's name.  Just make one quilt, you will be surprised how one quilt will make a difference in someone's life.

You gave me a chuckle this morning. I am terrible at reading directions. And I too am a visual learner. Show me and I get it. Read it and, well, it may sit around for a while :-)

She looks adorable Barb. I love the idea of using Lapel Stick to hold the seam allowance in place and contain the raw edges.

And Thanks for the shout out on the Quilt Angels project.

I don't do directions well either. And I totally agree, one quilt given away makes a huge difference to those who receive it.

I too hate reading the directions. Once the directions came with all pictures...I never got anything put together that fast, it was awesome, with they all did it that way. Now days when you buy a small appliance for whatever, you have to go online to see the directions...they aren't in the box...can you believe?

Your doll is looking very cute. I need pictures too, when I try to read directions, they just get all jumbled up in my head.

Love the doll and I do believe we have the same problem with directions. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Waiting on some more of the wedding pictures my friend. Hugs, Marie
