THIS POST IS ABOUT TEACHING OLD DOGS NEW TRICKS!!

This first picture is my ironing board cover (I know, I should do the walk of shame)...my head is hanging down as it is.  This cover is only a little over a year old.  Okay...shame on me.

I purchased this applique pressing sheet at the same time I did the cover hoping to protect it.
I tried it a few times and just put it away thinking it didn't work.  hummmmmmmmmmm  this is where the old dog comes in.

fast forward to a year or so later, I pull out this pressing sheet thinking to just throw it away but thought I would give it one more time.

Did you know that you should let the applique piece cool before taking it off the sheet???  Like I have said before, My mother used to tell me I run off half caulked all of the time.  This is one of those times.

Guess what???  I love love the pressing sheet...my ironing board cover would have appreciated this revelation a good while ago...hummmm

Any one have a dog bone for me?  I can fetch real good too.

Thank you so much! I look forward to giving the lapel stick a try! And my pressing board cover gets changed about twice a year. It just gets all nasty and ugly until I can't stand it anymore! LOL

Thanks so much!
I replaced my ironing board cover earlier this summer and it already looks awful despite my best intentions to be more careful...rats!

I just ironed an applique shape onto a non-iron-able material and zapped a corner of it. Now my iron is covered in dark gunk. Silly me, as I knew better. I should have used a small craft iron.

And I think I may go thru ironing board covers as often as you do, yet I have all sorts of pressing sheets and also know I can cover my ironing board with freezer paper...but lazy me, I go right ahead and iron and the gunk goes everywhere.

Thanks for the laugh! Half chaulked? I always thought that was half cocked, as in not ready to fire....My ironing board gets shabby fast no matter how I try to keep it looking good. At least the end that's not under a pile of projects.
