LIFE IS NOT WITHOUT IT'S CHALLENGES!!

My husband and I just made a whirl wind trip to Texas. We were gone 6 days and most of it was traveling. We drove 24 hours straight on the way home only to get home and find out that we might have to go back.......not fun.

But, there is always a but.....for some reason family and friends makes the life challenges a little easier.

Like turning older......not fun but my niece Jennifer (she has been blogging on inchworm fabrics blog), sent me this.....I just love it and my Kindle is so snug in the pouch!! I just have to say that I just love my nieces....they are so kind and thoughtful and bring a breath of fresh air into my life.

A sweet friend sent me these.........Love love love it!!
I ordered this....remember the calendar that my sister sent, well, I had to have the book!
My mother and sister Beverly gave me some things as well...but no pictures yet....I am truly excited about the fabric, candy is all gone (I know...what a surprise)...and then some decorative balls to match my dinning room table centerpiece..yes...need to get a picture on here....will soon.
I won this over at the Tulip Patch, it is a Roly Poly Owl block kit for a wall hanging. Made from the drunkard's path. How fun is that? If you want to go and take a look at it just click on Tulip Patch.
I volunteered to finsh these quilts up for my mother. They are for my great nieces, I am really excited to have a part in these quilts.
I am working on these at the moment.....I ordered the blocks on ebay. I did the blanket stitch around them and now for a quilt. No Sunbonnet Sue die for me, I borrowed my niece's last time.As I said, life is not without it's complications and one of those was a dead computer......no worries...I am up and running on a new one but...once again...complications...trying to adjust, learn, and transfer over data....it just ain't easy!!

What beautiful things, and what a lovely post about the people in your life. That Thimbleberries book looks good to me; I'll have to check it out.

Girlie, you sound like you have been running like I do! I tell people that I am homeless....and that I live in my car. Because that is the way I feel most of the time.
I'm glad you had goodies in the mail to cheer you up.
Hang in there!

Glad to hear you made it home safely...that is quite a long drive; I know from experience! You did receive a lot of wonderful things, but then, you deserve every one of them! Love the Sunbonnet Sue, too!

XOXO,

Cyndi

Hi Barb you have such a lovely extended family ,I was an only child so no siblings, anyway lots of good friends. Some days just don't seem to go as well as we would like and everything just slows us down. What kind of computer did you get. My daughter's husband just bought a "MAC" and they seem to have fallen in love with it. Hope today is a better day. Blessings Sandra

Ewww...24 hours straight in a car. And you might have to go back? Not fun at all!

I also have a set of Sunbonnet Sue blocks that I bought off ebay. Years ago...and I haven't done anything with them yet. I actually kind of forgot I had them ;)

Those whirlwind trips can really be a challenge. Glad you are home and back to projects again. I always love seeing what you are up to.

Computer problems are the worst nightmare come true. I send my sympathies.

It's bad enough when a computer bites the dust but what makes it harder is the fact that you need to learn a new one.

Family...gotta love them even the crazy ones lol.

I won a roly poly owl block too. I'm hoping to get the ambition up to work on it this week. I thought it was cute way to use the dresden block die. I might have to make some more later.

I had a rushed yesterday and made sure Sunday was quiet (so far). Just reading newspapers, having a lazy lunch with a friend and relaxing at home. Monday onwards its going to be hectic. I have to start Christmas parcels for 35 girls!

Could you let us know how you like that Perfect Angles? I saw that online, but don't like spending money on something I have no clue about. =)

Hi,
I'm your newest follower. I just saw your button and clicked on it on another blog, and am I glad I did! This looks like a wonderful blog and I am probably going to need quite a chunk of time to go through all I've missed, but I'll sure give it a try. If you ever get time, please come visit me at my blog, Ric Rac and Polka Dots. I'm pretty new but have lots of fun things planned to share with everyone. This summer was so busy with county fair, gardening, relatives visiting, and just recently a wedding and two birthdays! Yikes. Now that things are settling down and I finally got my sewing room cleaned and organized I can get going!!! No excuses!!! Except of course that little thing called the holidays . . .
So nice to meet you,
Julie

Life does like to throw lemons at us from time to time. And we have to learn to dodge them, or roll with them, or make lemonade. :-) Looks like you have all sorts of fun goodies to play with!
