TODAY'S POST IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY KFC

I know that most of you have seen these containers at KFC....I just can't stand to throw them away....

I put my beads in them...they stack nicely.

Bobbins....the container is small enough to fit in a small drawer...

My favorite meal...chicken breast, roll, and mashed potatoes...ummm ummmm good.

The next picture is my ironing boards.....I thought I was going to have to replace the cover...

But I washed it (laughing)...imagine that!!! Novel concept....

The other day I could not thread the sewing machine needle for the life of me. I read somewhere that if you put a little glue on the end of the thread it would thread easier. I was desperate so I got my little glue stick out and slid the tip of the thread in glue....

IT WORKED!!!! You don't need much so it dries really fast.... Glue sticks are cheap, insanity is expensive!!

Hope you all have an amazing day.....remember the giveaway is HERE

I WON!!! I won the baby quilt contest at the quilting gallery with my octopus quilt....thanks to all of you!!

Congratulations on winning. I think it is well deserved, it was my favorite by far :-)
Thanks for the tip (using glue), not that my eyes are getting older of course, but the eye of the needle seems to shrink LOL.

I have never tried washing my ironing board cover either...I just bought a new one, but maybe will give it a try.

Congratulations on the win!!!
I only have 2 of those containers, but could not throw them away either. My husband thought I was nuts! Have a great day.

Hi Barb! Firstly, congratulations on winning the baby quilt contest!!
I LOL when I saw those containers as I have quite a few of them, too. And yes, they are quite handy for bits and pieces, and I love that they stack. Even though I rarely iron "clothes" on my ironing board, I still cover it with a piece of muslin or a linen tea towel when using it for quilting. All that starch build-up makes it stiff as a board... so much easier to throw the fabric/tea towel in the washer than the cover.
Happy Tuesday... Karen

Okay, I'm laughing at the KFC tubs bz I just washed out three to use for various things. We usually get the larger sides that come in styrofoam bz we usually don't eat at KFC unless we're feeding quite a few so I hadn't seen these until the other day when Larry ordered some chicken strips in a meal! Love the glue stick idea on the thread and I'll have to try that! My machine is self-threading but sometimes when I hand sew it gets tough to thread and those little needle threaders don't work for me.

Congratulations on the win! I'm so happy for you!

Congratulations on your win! I love your quilt. Thanks for those great tips. I'm like you and hate to throw anything out, but, alas, I'm not as organized or creative. What a great idea for using those KFC bowls.

Congrats on the win! The octopus quilt i a refreshing change from the usual baby quilt. Loved it!

You must eat a lot of KFC...LOL. I haven't been to one in years. years....

I'll have to remember the glue thing. But I think my issue is eyesight. I'm right in between the not seeing with glasses/bifocals and without. The joys of being middle age.

YAY!!! I'm so glad you won! Congratulations! Whew, I'm glad I am not the only one that buys needles and then discovers they have shrinking eyes...I think it is something about the metal they use now-a-days, 'cos it didn't use to be that way. LOL
Thanks for the tip on the glue stick, and the containers.

Congratulations on your win! Wasn't a doubt in my mind you would win. I didn't know you beaded. You have so many talents. I will put a glue stick next to my machine as I always have trouble threading the needle.

Very deserving of your win at Quilting Gallery and I voted for you. So far the highest I have come is number five - but it was stiff competion. Love your tip on threading and re-purposing KFC - I told about the Gerber baby food containers yesterday on my blog - Lovely post. Judy C in NC

Ha, I thought I was the only one who "re-used" containers for supplies. I hate throwing perfectly good stuff away. I love your use of the KFC containers.

The glue stick idea is wonderful for those rare times when I hand sew. Thanks!

Fun post! A little bit of everything today. Great way to reuse the KFC containers. Nice to see that they don't use as much Styrofoam containers as they used to.
