I have been searching and searching for a good buy and finally I was able to get this half off at Joann's online.
Here is the glass cutting mat, with the sponge and adhesive.
Here is the fabric with fusible on the back, adhered to the cutting mat.
Here are cut outs from card stock.
Here are the cut outs from Fabrics.
I love the slice for all of the versatility it holds. The design cards have so many options in one card. I really like that. You can also chose the size up to 4 inches. I like that.
I think it is fabulous for scrapbookers.
If you like to do applique, it is great for you as well....
But......
I don't like the fact that you have to use adhesive to cut fabric. You have to keep it in stock so you can cut when you want. You also have to clean the glass between each cutting. You have to keep your hands on the machine while cutting. I thought you would be able to start the machine and leave....not so. You have to make sure the adhesive is dry before you cut or you get a mess.
This is great for those that have arthritis. You do get all the alphabets of any size or shape you want.
I will say that I do like the slice and think I will enjoy using it. I am so excited about all of the possibilities it holds. Will this take the place of my Go cutter....not a chance....

Thanks for the review. Looks like it is as much fun as the GO.
Thanks for the review, Barb.
While it was not actually on my list
I had seen the possibilities of it
Glad to know just how labor intensive it can be.
Hugs
I have had a ball with my Slice Fabric....and have you seen the new design cards? Oh they are going to be so cool.
Smiles,
Kelly
Great review! Thanks!
Good to know.
There is a magnetic holder that you can put your slice in, so you can be hands-free. I also don't put new adhesive on in between every cut, only when it starts to lose its 'sticky'. Thanks for the review, I've been thinking about updating my slice to the fabric one - maybe if there's a trade-in program.
Thanks for your frank review. It sounds like it has definite possibilies along with major drawbacks. I'm still on the fence about getting one.
I have that machine...though haven't used it yet. Sigh...I have too many things going at once! I did buy a large mat with a magnet...so you don't have to hold the machine. I'll have to let you know how that works. The letters you cut from fabric look great...so I hope mine turn out that nicely. =)
Thanks for the review. I've never heard of this so it is nice to know what is out there and what someone else thinks about it.
I'm so glad you gave an honest review. I can see some possibilities as a scrapbooker, yet my cricut does the same things. Probably won't be something I'll buy because I'm loving my GO. Hugs
Great review. I have a friend who also bought it on sale and she feels the same as you.
I love the initials. I also never heard of a Slice Fabrique so thank you for keeeping us up to date.
I always love how you honestly rate products. Thanks Barb.
New toys are fun... nice to hear you be honest able the 'hassle' bits though ... love your alphabet letters....

Great review! I think I would get more use from a GoCutter as well!
I think I would like it just for the alphabet. That is until I can get the alphabet for my Go ;)
I love how honest this review was. Someday, I plan on getting some kind of a cutter and this helps to narrow the field.
I've never heard of that little gadget. Thanks for your candid opinion. Good to know.
Great review. Love the font.

Looks like fun, Barb!! I love the different shapes you can cut!
It's always good to hear about different products, this one looks interesting but probably not for my style of working but you never know. Thanks for the review.
What a nice present! Great review. I love the letters you made and the bird is very cute! That bird would look adorable on a purse. :)
Thanks for the review Barb, looks like a great tool for letters. I love to use letters in my quilts and I do find it a little tedious cutting them out. I'll have to check it out at Joann's. Maybe I should put this on my birthday wish list. :^).
Oooooooo what a fun mom's day pressie!

So far I have had fun using mine...I used the spray on adhesive which makes it a bit quicker than the sponge on one. I have only had a little play with mine but I think for appliques and the intricate ones it will be fantastic. Thanks for the review. I must play with mine more and give a review also.
Interesting...I've never heard of this gadget. I think I will stick with my freezer paper templates....using glue is yucky LOL.
