PREP WORK!

Sometimes do you find that the prep work takes longer than the actual project?

I have been cutting these fabric scraps (and true to form, there are more scraps left than when I started...are they like worms, you cut them in half and they multipy)? I don't get it???

These fabulous scraps will make these key fobs......oh yes....when I get on a fettish, I ride the boat all the way in.....no stopping me.....until I get my fill...

Good thing it is not chocolate!!

Great idea! I like to make stuff from scraps also. Yo-yos are one thing I make with scraps. Also string quilts.

Those are cute! Is the loop large enough to slip over your wrist?

I love your little key fob, but how do the keys attach?

Do you do those on an embroidery machine or did you make up a pattern? I have a pattern for my embroidery machine that is fine. But yes prep work does take longer than the sewing itself.

Barb, I love the key fob.I have received several as gifts but I could never figure out how to make one. Is there a tutorial available?

I always feel that way.

I love key fobs! I buy mine though. I'm not good with putting gadgets together. Like snaps and things. They always want to come apart on me.

Love that key fob have been looking for an improved way from the one I did. Do you have some instructions to share? I do have to agree about the scraps growing, they never end. Have a great day my friend.Hugs, Marie

Really like your key fob. Do you have a pattern to share it is much nicer than the one I did. I too agreee the scraps just keep on growing no matter how you cut them up.

Like your key fob where can I get the directions? I do agree the prep work can be very monotonous.

How fun!! Looks like you will be busy for a day or two :)

Key fobs are very low calorie--even exercise. ALl that cutting will tone your arms.

I only have a limited time to sew on the weekend and sometimes it is all spent on just prepping.

OK, the key fobs are fabulous!!!

I love making key fobs. I keep pushing my supplies around on my table but haven't made any lately. I like how they are a quick project and a great little gift.

Those are pretty, where did you find the hardware? I love the retro fabric of the one that's already made up.

I love the key fob, where did you find the pattern. I agree getting ready to do something takes up so much time. My thing I hate most is cutting out fabric. It seems to take me twice as long as it did five years ago. Getting old I guess.

I like the way those are turning out.

pretty! where do you get your hardware for the keyfobs? I can get keyrings anywhere but finding the other hardware has been hard, even longing online for it. (mauh) Liz

Those are so cute! I just made a few key fobs last week and they are so addictive! I like these with the fabrics though. I did mine with cute ribbon and webbing, but I have soooo much more options with fabric! Thanks for the idea!

Looks like you'll be making a lot of them. They do make useful keepsakes. I don't know how to make a fob, but I do have one and it's so easy to find it in my purse.
