So.....as I was thinking last night upon this dilema.....I went though in my head about cutting up tissue paper, copy paper....tin foil....and then
Plastic grocery bags!!! I have them, they are cheap. Get the ole trusty rotary cutter (you have dull blades somewhere)...and start stripping.....nothing like a little stripping to get the day going good!
Doesn't my little bunny look all snug in his basket?I was also thinking that this would be great for filler paper for gift bags as well.
If you don't like the white and want a little color, Walmart has the blue bags....sure it is not green but hey....it is free!!! If you are like me, you have these bags all over the house....if you are organized, you have them in one spot in a container (okay....now you know....I am not organized, I am an organizer want to be).....but I am not a pig...and there is a difference....

If you want the "grass" to look a little "primitive" - brown paper bag strips would work! And they're free, too! Love the baskets. Bummer I didn't win the orange slices! lol

You thrifty, creative lady! Wonderful idea for reusing those bags and saving on gasoline, (no driving all over town looking for grass) -- and don't forget using a dull blade. It's recycling x 3 at its best!

You're right, there is a difference! The more my kids move out the more my organizing self becomes more apparent bz no one messes up my system! This is a unique idea and I'm definitely going to cut me up a bunch when the blades get dull again. I use my plastic bags for garbage bags in the small cans so I do have a collection of them. Thanks for the idea!

Once upon a time we had lots of plastic bags and occasionally they start to gather again but now, a lot of the stores here are charging 5 cents a bag to encourage recycling and using recycled bags or cloth bags. I also take bags to school to give to my kids because some of them forget their bag packs. Perhaps the recycled paper in my bin at school would be a good thing to use to make Easter grass- it wouldn't crinkle as well or have the same puffy-ness of plastic. Your grass idea is cool and I think that it would make great Easter grass. Thanks for sharing.
