My 4th son was going to be homeless for 10 days during Christmas....this caused me alot of stress and worry.... He kept telling me not to worry because he was going to sleep in a friends car....
I am his mom...how could I not worry and how could I enjoy my Christmas holiday knowing he would not have a home or even Christmas dinner.
The day before he was to become homeless one of his friends parents took him in. They treated him as one of their own and even had presents for him under the tree.
How can I ever thank the kindness of this family? It will be hard to repay them but maybe this quilt will be a form of thanks...hopefully, they will enjoy it and over look the bloopers....(smiling...ooopss).

It's beautiful Barb, but the really beautiful part of it is that you made it to thank them for caring for your son. How sweet is that? Very! There are certainly a lot of good people out there, aren't there?

Talofa Barb, I loved your quilt - colors, design, and everything. It will be loved. Because of your inspiration, I have started my blog again. When I am busy with wonderful things to write about, I don't have time to write, and when I have time, I don't have anything to say.
I'm so glad they took him in.....it was good for their soul, good for your's and good for your son. I don't think I could stand the thought of one of my little monkeys being homeless....but if they ever are....I know if someone can take them in....they will....and the circle of goodness and kindness will continue. Thanks Barb for keeping that circle going.

Oh Barb! That comment just made me cry. My oldest has been in the same position and had some very nice people take him in as well in October .... it is such a hard thing for a mom to deal with. I hope making that beautiful helped you and I know the people who receive it will love it and think fondly of you and know you appreciate what they did every time they use it!

OMG! Your post almost brought tears to my eyes. Both for the kindness of your son's friends, but also for your gift of a beautiful quilt to thank them. I love that bow tie pattern. When everyone was doing one for the Schnibbles challenge, I took my old bow tie blocks and remade them into one of these. I love it!

I love the quilt ,my son travels all over the world I worry about him so much but he always seems to find a place to stay .If he gets in a real spot of course he contacts us and we have become great friends of Western Union LOL .

It's just lovely, Barb. I think they will considered themselves amply repaid. I hope your son's housing situation has straightened itself out. Was he away at school or something? I remember they used to kick us out of the dorms over Christmas break, and too bad for you if you didn't have anywhere to go.

That is a beautiful quilt! They will love it!! The quilting on it is astronomical. What is the name of the pattern or where would I be able to find it?
Oy, My momma heart skipped for a second, as I am sure yours did for much longer than a second! And my eyes started to water thinking of the helplessness you must have felt :( If only we could protect & provide for our children (no matter their age!) every second of every day for their lifetime!! I was thankful to read that things worked out, and worked out in a special way :) The quilt is beautiful! It would be hard to find words, and no extravagant gift would come close to thanking someone for protecting/providing for "one of ours", but a gift of warmth/love made from the heart... as their gift was to your son (and to you thru him)... now that's perfection ((((((((((((huge hugs!))))))))))))) I hope one day our children learn what it is like to wear your heart outside your body and remember to be thankful for the Momma's (parents) heart! :)
