My mother hand pieced and hand quilted this for me. She showed it to me a few years ago but I left it with her while in Amerika Samoa.
When I recently visited my mother, I hugged her and went straight for this quilt. Had to hug her first but I was a woman on a mission.....
When those chills hit...this quilt becomes my best friend.
One problem tho....there is a mystery pin in this quilt somewhere and every once in a while it rears it's ugly head and gives me a quick jolt....

What a wonderful quilt.
Many years ago, my granddaughter had a friend go on a vacation with us and she brought along a quilt that her grandmother had made for her probably 12 years earlier. All of a sudden she got a nasty scratch. After a close examination of the quilt, I found a pin that had been left inside all those years earlier. I managed to get it out through a seam. It was very old and very rusty after all that time.
My guess is she's still using that quilt that she loved so much.
The quilt is beautiful!!! You will need it since your blood has been thinned by living in the tropics. Maybe the first time you use it, pull it into your lap one inch at a time until you find that darn pin!!

What a beautiful quilt! And how fortunate you are to have such a talented mom! Guess it's a bit difficult getting used to the cold weather again, huh?! Watch out for that pin!

rub a magnet over it and 'find' the pin. then you can work it out. I have a couple of older quilts with the head of the pin left in but the metal part removed. I think I would rather have a small hole then a spot of blood. cw
I would think that this would be worth a few pin pricks when the weather turns like this and you aren't used to it! lol

Whoops, I had a pin in a quilt once. I finally got the head broke off and got the sharp part out. Good luck.

I think Cheryl's suggestion about using a magnet is a logical plan for finding that pin in the beautiful quilt. Good luck finding and removing it.
