Most of you know that I do not have grandchildren, well...............we spent 4 days at my niece's house who has four children ranging from 3 months to 6 years. Talk about stealing our hearts...these little tykes did it.
So...one tradition my niece has is that each child makes a gift for the others. My little niece Annie who is six has her own sewing machine (Janome). She has made a few quilts. So I took it upon myself to teach her to make a tote for her little sister....
Impressive, isn't it!!!
One day my niece had a friend come over and they made these.....
What a great gift to give someone, so fast and easy, using your fabric scraps.... Here is the link to the Christmas tree. for next year.
A big thanks to Karen for this fun giveaway over at Sew Cal's...
Then a little surprise from Kelly over at I Have a Notion
On the back of the calendar shows all the quilts you can make through out the year with instructions inside...just love it Kelly...thanks a bunch.
Hope you all had an amazing Christmas!!!
Thanks Toni and Mike for making our Christmas bright and giving us a home, great food, and a fun time over the holiday season.

PS What a good Aunt you are!!! You will automatically become "Aunt Barb" to my children ;) fondly, Sandy
What a talented family you have! You are a great aunt to teach someone so young to make a bag. I still have trouble making a bag! Sounds like you had a wonderful 4 days! Happy new Year!
How nice to hear about the next generation learning how to sew!
I think it is a great tradition for the kids to make each other something special for Christmas.
Cute tote & tree!
Glad you enjoyed all kids & fun!
Very impressive. This is the age to get them really interested as their minds are so creative.
Wonderful, glad you got some 'teaching' in over the holiday and with such fun students! Glad you had a nice Christmas!
I love presents that kids make themselves. This year I received a jingle bell necklace from my FIL's girlfriend's 2 year-old grandchild. lol I jingled all day yesterday. 8)

PS I finally washed the dinosaur flannel quilt. I was a little worried that it would run, but it came out nicely. Whew!
Wow, I want to teach my babies how to sew but am too afraid they'll get their lil fingers in the way. Your niece makes me think we maybe, might, can try to take the plunge. Maybe,LOL. Enjoy the rest of the holiday.
~Tootles!
Fun Christmas. Lovely gifts. But I really love that your niece is having her kids make gifts and learning to give at such an early age. Good for her. And what I can tell they are making wonderful gifts too. They may be starting their own crafts and blogs very soon.

Just getting back from spending a 12 days with my four grands. Mine do not sew YET. The tote made by your 6-year old neice is fabulous. OK, I need to work on my 15 year old grand. :-)
I can't think of a better way to spend Christmas, hanging out with the little ones!! You really need to talk to those boys of yours LOL.

So glad you had a fun and wonderful Christmas with family. I hope you have a wonderful week as well.
The tote is great. After seeing it I wondered if my 7 year old granddaughter could make one. She is learning to sew. Glad you were able to spend time with family and had such a lovely Christmas. Nola
Those are great! Glad you had a nice Christmas. I wish we could have met up but I'm back in Massachusetts. We had to make a mad dash out of Virginia to try to beat the blizzard. It didn't really work but at least we are back now and safe. I didn't even get to see the DC area so I'll have to come back soon.
I love the daisy tote. You must have had fun helping your niece make it.
I am glad that you had a wonderful holiday! Having little ones around sure do make them SO much fun!!
