LET'S HAVE SOME FUN!! A BRR...WHAT IS THAT???? WELL READ AND SEE

First of all, my sister Jeantte sent me this panel about a month ago or more. I had it out...so wanting to do something with it. She is putting alot of panels in her store this week, so go by and check it out later this week. She says she sent me a package...whohoooooooo hope it is more panels...I know, I am such a greedy monger.

Now....if you thought my room was a mess....I have gone from project to project, pulled out an old RR, pulled out a flamingo panel, the jelly roll quilt along. I actually cut out wax paper for an applique project...that is when I felt a slap upside my head....like "GIRL, what in the world do you think you are doing?" No more projects, NO MORE!!! Find one thing and finish it...so even tho I have all these projects and can't concentrate on a single one...I am going to make myself chose after this post and on Thursday (maybe tomorrow if there is time) and show you one project that I have finished...I will....I will......okay...I am committed or maybe I should have myself comitted??? What ever!!

You see this journal cover.....it is absoutely gorgeous, I want to wear it around my neck like Kelly was wearing the iron on her blog but sorry Kelly this journal out does your iron any day. This picture does not do it justice. Stepahnie over at Ditch In time Quilts made this...soooo amazing and I am going to be sure to take it tomorrow and show the classes what a little thought and creativity can do. Thanks Stephanie.

Now the fun part, you see this book( you will have to scroll down further).... it was given to me by Sew Cal. I think this gal would give you her right arm if she felt you needed it more than her. I just got two big bags of M & M's...(no weight loss for me this week) and some steam a seam ....lots of goodies ...

Did I get sidetracked....hummmmmm (that is not like me...HA!)

Okay, I asked her if I could give it away after I read it. She said certainly.

Well...I guess you can't call this a giveaway because the stipulation behind this non giveaway which I am calling a BRR (Book Round Robin).....so, I pick a winner, the winner reads the book and passes it on. They in turn have a giveaway. I will write my name in the book, my friend Jean read it and I will put her name in it and so each time, we all will just add our names as we read it. So....if you are game for alittle Book Round Robin, cast in your name...but remember, it is not yours to keep, only pass along. And keeping in the true form of a giveaway, I will send a little pattern with it (will let you choose).

Oh...you must state in your giveaway what blog your this book comes from.

So...from Sew Cal to Bejeweled to you....and in the book, my name with where I live.

Are you ready for some (no not football)....some BRR???

OHHH we need a deadling....lets say Saturday...

What a great idea, Barb. Please add my name to the list.

I know what you mean about projects. They can take over the place. I can't wait to see your finish.

Beautiful journal!!!!

That is a great panel to practice quilting skills on.

Hi Barb, I would love to do this with you. I have been wanting to read this book. What a fun way to read a book!

Enjoy your BRR. I am not going to play, as I have read that one (okay I have read them all, I think.)

but I just wanted to pop in and say I am so glad I am not the only one with several projects swirling in my head asking for time....I really need to finish something soon or I think I will go crazy...

What a great idea you have with the book. I just love reading your blog. I'm like you start another project before your are finished one. My sister thinks I'm crazy but she is not a creative person ad she does not understand. But I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I would love to participate.
Thanks Barb.
Why not make some tote bags with that panel or some small runners or table toppers for your class to practice their quilting on ?

Passing the book around sounds like fun. And I've been waiting to read that book.

Oh my gosh, I am drooling over that panel Jeanette sent you...fabulous! And you are so funny...I love to read your blog because not only do you have wonderful ideas and show us all the clever, crafty and creative things you do...you make me laugh! :o)

Anyway, I think your "BRR" is such a cool idea. Don't enter me in the contest because I don't quilt, but just wanted to tell you all of the above! LOL!!

XOXO,

Cyndi

Now wouldn't this be just the thing to take with me on my trip for reading material. What fun.

What a pretty panel! Oh my the journal cover is so fancy. Enjoy. Great idea about the BRR.

What a clever, clever idea! I'm all for sharing books - and "used" is just as good as "new" in my book! :snerk:

I bounce from project to project way too often. I either hit a hard spot that I can't find a solution for right away or I get bored. Either way...I have a basket full of need to finish projects.

I've seen several bloggers reading that book. They all say it is great. I love your idea of a Block Round Robin. I think everyone will have fun with it. I know better than to toss my name in the hat though. I love to read but I can't seem to focus on anything right now. I keep checking books out of the library but can't seem to get past the first page or two on any of them. Oh well, as long as I still have my quilting mojo I'm good to go :)

I'd wear that journal around my nect too. It's grogeous.

This sounds like fun Barb! I'll put my name in the hat!

Barb, the panel is adorable, hope you have some fun quilting it. I would love to participate in the book RR. How fun to pass it on to another lucky reader. We could also send something else along with it. You are so clever.

I'm another starter, yes I start something new before I finish that last project. That's why I have 20-25 projects waiting in the wings. We need a finish your project group. :) I'm confused which project do I finish? LOL

Your plan for a Book Round Robin is a great idea, Barb. Add my name to the list.

You're the energizer bunny! Always working on great projects, promoting giveaways, sharing fresh ideas. I can always head to your blog for inspiration and a smile.

Great idea please add my name.

What a great idea! Thanks for the chance to win.

I like that panel, but I don't need to be in the book drawing. Tonya May hates to read!

Oh pick me, pick me! I've purchased and read two other 3-book books by Jennifer Chevarini and given both away when I'm finished. This would just keep the cycle going. (In the past it's been an extra door prize at a quilt retreat my mom runs, but giving it by blog seems like more fun.) And I really wanna read this one too!

A great panel -- so colorful and pretty! Good luck picking just one project to finish -- I'll be watching! Nice idea for a book round robin, but have seen this one so don't add me this time. Have a wonderful day!

i LOVE pass-along projects! I'm so in :)

I like the idea. Count me in.

I have found that I have trouble working on only one project, too. Maybe I have multi-tasked so long that I have developed ADD?

Joanna said...

I'm in for the BRR. That is a great idea. I also want to mention that the panel and the book cover are both lovely. The book cover looks jeweled.

I hope I get the book eventually:)

Oh, what a great idea, a Book Round Robin! I love it and I'm going to steal your idea and pass it around my group too but I would love to do this with you too. Please count me in, I have been wanting to read this book.

Now, go be committed!

A wonderful idea Barb..too bad I already have the book!

Oh, I saw this book, when SewCal got it and thought it looked (and sounded) fantastic. Your idea sounds great - a sort of 'Pass It On' and everybody benefits. Would it not be an idea to add your blog address, if you have one, as well as your name, and then the fun will be increased? Just a thought.

I'd love to read the book before it's totally worn out from being passed around...what a great idea!
I'm a fast reader too and I would pass it along.
Love that panel. We don't get too many varieties here in Canada that I've seen anyway.

I belong to Bookcrossing.com and that's essentially what we do. Read a book, sign and electronic journal and then pass the book along. It's a lot of fun to see the comments of the people who read the book after me.

No need to enter me in the contest as I have far too many books unread and quilts unfinished.

Great post.

I haven't read that one yet; some of her others..but not this one. Yes, count me in, and thanks once again..my friend.

Cute panel, reminds me of a 50's table cloth.

Crispy - PS don't put me in for the BRR, if I like a book I hoard it :0)

I had to give myself a slap upside the head too. Too many things on the go at once. I love that journal cover! Beautiful! Your BRR is a good idea, but I think I will pass on it.

That's a terrific panel you've got there. Not much work in making that into a lovely quilt. 8) I love The Aloha Quilt; I think it's one of her best yet.

Have fun,
