Didn't mean for it to turn out so island but when you (meaning me) use scraps...and seeing how that is the bulk of my scraps, it could not be avoided.
Now, when I read that Gene did not paticularly care fo the drunkard's path I was worried. He was smart tho, someone sent him a few pieces to sew together before he actually brought the die. Saved him some money. So....I was worried.
But. I just love this drunkard's path, for me, the curves are so easy to sew and goes so fast. This quilt was made in a matter of hours. Yes, it is bright. The fabrics I got from Inchworm Fabrics online store but I just went by there and they have no more of these fabrics.....seems the fabric are going fast.
I was just thinking about all the strings and fabrics all over the house...even when I am not sewing. They are in the sidewalk, on the rugs...string everywhere. I have to clean out my vacuumn brush every time I vacuumn.
And....I think my husband was raised by a family of monkeys.....the way he picks over my clothes before I leave the house........he can't resist that one string hanging off my clothes....
Internet troubles again so if I am not responding to your comments....sorry....

What a pretty butterfly quilt!!!
Ooh-love them both, but especially the butterfly quilt & your use of island fabrics
Barb, I love the "Butterflies of the Island" quilt. If I did that "A" word I would be making one of those. Whew!....I have too many projects already.
I have a confession; if I win Pat's giveaway, I just might get the drunkards path die anyway. It wasn't that bad off when I did it without pins. Yours looks terrific!
Love the butterfly quilt!! My DH must be you DH's brother-he is always picking strings out of my hair and off my clothes!! I think of the strings as "a fashion statement"!
The butterfly quilt is wonderful! I love the island feel to it.
I love the butterfly quilt and the name that Gene gave it. I need some of those island fabrics. And your drunkard's path i beautiful but I love bright.
I'm getting jealous...how quickly you can make projects!!
I think I don't want one of those things and then I see the fantastic quilts you make with it and I change my mind. I love love the butterfly one.
Barb,
Its a fabulous butterfly quilt- so very pretty to look at- It is so bright and reminds me of a warm summer day on a meadow.
The Drunkard's path is terrific as well. Love what you are doing with those dies.
Thread seems to a never ending problem for us quilters.
Regards,
Anna
I just love the butterfly quilt - so full of happy quiltiness! BTW I read (devoured) The Aloha Quilt. I think it's one of my favorites. I LOVED The Cross-Country Quilters and Round Robin was good too. I don't like the historical Chiaverinis very much. I can't relate to that extreme pride of heritage at all. I mean, if I found out Great-Grampa was a horse-thief or something, I could probably live with the shame. lol
Take care,

Love the butterfly quilt and the fabrics suit it well. Looks great as does your other one...fabulous colours :) I had a little laugh about being from a family of monkeys hehehehe
I love the colors in the butterfly quilt :)

The comment about your husband being raised by monkeys had me laughing. Oh Barb, I just love reading your blog.
Oooo pretty!!! Gene doesn't know what he's missing by avoiding the drunkard's path...it's a versitile for layouts as a log cabin LOL.
