Finished stippling this quilt (I made it in Texas).
I started stippling last night but was really having a hard time,
getting frustrated
and really not enjoying the process....and this little voice told me "If you are not enjoying the process, then quit!"
Yes, I hear voices but I don't see dead people (how creepy would that be).
so I quit!
After lunch today, I finished it and this time it was fun..... I think the quilt had alot of moisture in it from sitting in the living room....it stayed in my sewing room with the dehumidifier last night...moisture free......
Don't you just love the island fabrics.... I know that some of you are saying that the island fabrics is just not your cup of tea....and that is okay because it is mine.....and it is okay to be different least that is what my mother told me growing up.....HA!!
I just love how bright and beautiful it is....you can't tell by this picture but it is soooo fresh looking.
Now....gotta run to the store and get some starch for the binding....gotta have starch and that is one thing I can just run to the store for......yahooooooo!!! Small blessings...
Oh....I am waiting for my Go dies to come in and then will hit the GO cutter hard and heavy....

It's a very summery quilt. I love the fabrics.
It looks great Barb. You definetly have an eye for color. Can you tell us why starch on the binding?? You know me, curious as can be.
i LOVE it!
It makes me so happy to see when others use island fabric as much as I do!! Makes me a little home-sick for Hawaii, though! I can't wait to see what you use for binding...something super fun, I hope :) :)
It does look pretty, Barb. I did not realize that moisture would make a difference.
I never thought of putting a de-himidifier in my sewing room - Perth is usually pretty dry most of the year, but we use evaporative cooling... love your quilt. And the one made with the turnovers - I've just got a couple and am tossing around how to use them. Was thinking of hourglass blocks... so many neat things these days and so little time... love all your shopping. It's like Christmas when you forget what you bought...
It does look fresh and modern!
Maybe I need a Barb's Island Fat Qt Sampler...;-)

I love this quilt. At first I thought it was the quilt I saw in a magzine where they made the colored strips from crumbs. Both gorgeous ideas and executions to be sure.
Two great finishes for you--I like the bright-white look.
You and Pat are definately the "GO" girls. Very good publicity for accuyquilt thats for sure
Barb, don't ever worry about others not liking the fabrics you choose. It is PERFECTLY ok to be different. Can you imagine a world where we were all the same? How boring! Your things are always beautiful--but I"m one of those that enjoys how you use those island prints with other prints. Your work is always great! Thanks so much for sharing it with the rest of us!-- Shelly
What a fresh quilt! I adore the backing fabrics.
Another great quilt finished! I love simple designs.
More Go! dies? I guess we will be seeing more fun things soon.
Looks great Barb. I agree with you--island fabric is fantastic!
OMG Barb! I've been out of it for a few days. And here I come back and you have posted all these lovely things! I love this quilt and I love the one on your last post also. Great way to use some scraps!
That backing fabric is FABULOUS!!!
I like the quilt, but I am sure I would appreciate the bright island colors more if I lived on a bright sunny island!!! LOL!
Love it....the colors, the pattern, everything about it....wish I could see the colors and the closeup better. I enlarged it but it still doesn't show the detail. But I love the stitching too!
Love it!!! The colors are so happy and bright.
I am always amazed at how much easier things get when you can walk away for a while instead of fighting through a problem You quilt looks great -- so colorful and happy. Can't wait to see what you make with your Go cutter. I'm busy being tempted to buy one.
I'd say it's very vibrant in the picture, it must be an eye popper in person. VERY CUTE!!
Crispy
Well I'm with you I love the fabric. This is one thing you can get and I can't. LOL
Yes! I love island colors. We live near Galveston and I LOVE to get there on what's called the Blue Water Highway and see all the colorful homes. About every five houses I say......."THAT one is my favorite."
I love island prints too! in general I love bright colours in quilts as they do stand out.
This quilt looks like a variation of coins, which done by you is creative.
Yeah the real thing touching is so much better than the photos...although we are thankful for those Barb.
love that quilt and the island fabrics.....my mom always said...it's ok to talk to yourself, as long as you don't talk back, or answer yourself. I do it all the time, talk to myself and answer back, but then again, we already knew I was crazy, right? Can i get an amen?
You know I love the bright and vivid quilts. I can imagine the "true" colors on that one. Yum!
Your quilt is beautiful!!
Can't wait to see what dies you have ordered :)

I love it Barb, bright and cheerful!! I am a Bright color person!!
Really nice quilt - love the colours!
I'm curious about the starch on the binding also. The quilt is lovely.
I stop quilting too, when I hear voices that tell me to quit!!! I thought I was the only one.
Interest if the challenge was the moisture. Hymm.
Can't wait to see what new dies you are getting. Lucky girl! I'm sure you'll create beautiful things with them.

oooh, I like this! So summery with that crisp white!
(I'm a starch person, too.)
Are you getting some NEW dies? Which ones???
...Karen
I love your happy quilt.
Oh that backing is the best green ever. Your mission (should you accept) is to list that green in your store and you have four months to find me some yummy pink, that I can buy from you too. (This comment will self-destruct in 30 seconds) What dies are you getting for your "Go"?
I love it Barb, it is fresh looking and the fabrics are great. Sometimes the simpler patterns are just so appealing.
this is a perfect "island" quilt! love it....looking forward to see what your new dies are???? Sandy
What a great quilt, and it goes perfectly with the one you tested. What do you use for your solid white? (I'm obsessing over a solid for Dear Jane)
I hear voices too...or at least a single voice. I've learned that when it tells me "this isn't fun" that it's time to quit. When I don't listen to it, things go badly. Talk about no fun!
I love it!
I'm actually hosting a giveaway now if your interested ;)
It's gorgeous. I don't usually buy island prints, but when I see them made up into something, I'm always impressed. The colors are great.
Barb, your work is most beautiful, my dear friend. The fabrics are gorgeous.
Happy Quilting!
Hi Barb, love those Island fabrics and love your new quilt. It looks fantastic, way to go!! Just catching up after a getaway to the mountains.
Very pretty....I love the island prints! Do you always starch the binding?
I love the island colors - this quilt is beautiful The stippling job is wonderful!!
Oh! I love it!!!! So pretty :o) The stippling is beautiful! And if it is even brighter in real life, so much the better :o)
Fresh and crisp! Love both finishes. Steph
