MY NEW RULER

The hardest part is picking the colors. So you go from this......

Use this 45 Degree Kaleidoscope Wedge Ruler

Then you get this...

I have made tweleve of these. I am stumped. I ran out of the dark purple material (actually I cut out the triangle for the corners the wrong size and now I am out of material). So.....I am puzzled as to what to use now? Maybe I will stew over this tomorrow and finishe up on Monday. I think I will go and work on my Swap Blocks...

our quilting ancestors made do with what they had. find something similar? or go for another dark altogether? Looks very pretty. interesting ruler...

This looks like lots of fun... Too bad quilting rulers are too expensive here in Norway...

What pretty blocks. I agree with Shari. Think of it as a design opportunity.

Awe Barb--you didn't tell us you were making a Mardi Gras quilt. The only thing you're missing is GREEN! You have the purple and gold. Now all you need is GREEN and you'll have the colors of Mardi Gras. I love the way this is looking. So where did you find this really cool ruler of yours? That is awesome!

Mix it up a bit......don't worry about not having enough purple. I think each "block" could stand on its own and you could have a wide variety of colors in this quilt. It looks fun to make....now that you showed us the "secret". :)

That's too cool. I agree with Shari, you could pick a contrasting color or another complementary purple. I think it would look great either way. I've never seen that ruler and I thought I had seen them all. Is it something new?

Happy quilting,
Susan

Don't you love it when a "gadget" does what it is supposed too? AND you get results? I love it when that happens....
