TOUCH OF COLOR ON MOTHER'S DAY

Krista from Amerika Samoa made this quilt.....she says I helped her get started with it....all I know is I so love these colors and am so grateful for her friendship. She made this for her mother for Mother's Day!

I am actually old enough to be her mother. We have discussed this a time or two and well....sometimes friendship knows no age limit. She is an amazing mother, daughter, and friend.
Didn't she do a splendid job?

Happy Mother's Day to all of you....and to my own mother and sisters out there!!! Hope you all are treated like the qeens you are!!

I ONLY HAVE THREE SIMPLE WORDS FOR EVERYONE TODAY!!!

DEDICATING MAY TO A MONTH OF FINISHES

This is an on going project. The girls in my class at church are stitching around the initials and then I complete the tote for the new girls coming in. Then they do one for themselves. I planned for the tote to look slanted ( really).

As I looked at April finishes I noticed that I did not finish much....I started alot but no finishes..... Yesterday I went through my UFO's and got out the items that were almost finished....they are in a pile....(we will see how good I do) and am trying so hard not to start anything new.

So.... I had to finish this.....so this was first on my list. I just love the elmers glue binding. I couldn't get a good picture because my design floor was taken up.

How do you like this pattern? I think I do.

As I start my day....I have to remind myself...no new projects....no new projects...

That is like me saying....No sugar today...No sugar today.....

do we see a pattern here?

HERE'S YOUR SIGN moment. You all remember that song. By Bill Engvall

"I just hate stupid people.
They should have to wear signs that just say I'm stupid.
That way you wouldn't rely on them, would you?
You wouldn't ask them anything."

Well...his song is quite humorous.

Well....You see my pfaff...I have it sitting on the kitchen table.

Notice the table leg.....

So I am sitting down, getting ready to sew.... I have my foot on the pedal
but the machine won't go.....

What is up with that...???

Until it dawns on me, I am using the table leg's foot for a pedal....

Here's my sign!!

Have a fabulous day!

PASSING OF A QUILTING FRIEND.

Some of you know Sandy(no blog) from her sweet comments on your blog. Some of you know her from her sweet emails encouraging you on. She had the ability to love others and to make one feel special. What a true friend and blessing she was in my life.

She passed away on April 29th.

I have been out of town for a week, was suppose to be gone longer. All my post last week were preposted. Sorry for the second post today.

Sandy was on my mind alot while I was gone and so it was not a shock to find that she had passed away when I got home this morning.

I am so grateful to have known her....we had planned several times to meet but the day I was to go over was the day she became really ill.

Wish I had a picture.

When I am dead, my dearest
by Christina Rossetti

When I am dead, my dearest,
  Sing no sad songs for me;
Plant thou no roses at my head,
  Nor shady cypress tree:
Be the green grass above me
  With showers and dewdrops wet;
And if thou wilt, remember,
  And if thou wilt, forget.

I shall not see the shadows,
  I shall not feel the rain;
I shall not hear the nightingale
  Sing on, as if in pain:
And dreaming through the twilight
  That doth not rise nor set,
Haply* I may remember,
  And haply may forget

LINGERING LOG CABIN....

Here are five more log cabin blocks..... I so enjoy the colors....

Here are nine of the ten blocks....

There is definitely something to be said for taking a picture of your blocks together before you sew them...I do not like how this looks....so when I get them all sewn....I will definitely take a picture before I sew.

I got the "Swanky Honey Bun" from Inchworm Fabrics
