Before I even get started, I wanted to thank all of those that have sent cards to Sandy, I apologize if I have not written to each of you individually to thanyou, this was an oversight on my part as they left the house. I truly do thank you and I know that Sandy will be so thrilled to get these letters. I have not heard from Sandy as to how she is doing but as soon as I get an update or Cyndi, we will let you know.

Now....as you walk into my home, you will see these stairs....my husband and I swore we would never get another house with stairs. Never say never.



Here is the bathroom off the entry way. Notice the three different colors. I actually like these colors. The hallways is a dark brown.



This is rather a dark picture but if you click on the picture you will be able to see the green (sage) color. I love this color. Notice no furniture...still waiting on household items.



Now here is the Lavender dining room, I didn't show all of it because it is a mess with items I haven't decided where to put. Remember the post that I said I was not a person of color for my walls...well..these walls are very colorful. I am slowly getting used to this lavender and kinda like it now. I will show you the rest of the walls at another date....don't want to bore you too long.



Next is a book I completed while waiting for the storage items to come.

Truly enjoyed this book.

On the 17th I am joining in on the auction for the Flooding in Queensland....hope you will join me. Right now I have two quilt books but I am going to add one more thing to make it more enticing.

My Grandmothers top and my ???? year old UFO wrapped up in one!

You can tell that this quilt has been folded up too long in storage.

My grandmother made each of her grandchildren a quilt top. I remember playing with this top as a child.

Then many moons ago my mother gave it to me to quilt. I had never quilted a quilt before...I dabbed in her quilts (I am sure she took out my stitches when I left) but.....

I took on the challenge. I started practicing on a pillow top,

I practiced by makeing each of my sons a quilt.

I even practiced on my own quilt for my bed...

When I felt I was ready I began quilting on this.......

Before I could even begin, I had to repair it...that was a task in itself...I could have made several quilts in the time it too me to repair this one.

Was it worth it...

you bet ya!!



You can see my inexperience....and I wish I had waited longer....but....I am going to try and finish this this year....don't quote me on that...notice I said try....



Then when we were in Texas my husband's aunt gave me these dishes. I told her to give them to her children but she said she knew I would love them. These are hand painted and I am so happy to have them back in my posession. (not a total set of eight).

YOU CAN TAKE THE GIRL OUT OF SAMOA BUT YOU CANT TAKE THE SAMOAN OUT OF THE GIRL!!

You all have heard this statement so many times and I am sorry but I truly am an "ISLAND GIRL"......

oh yes....and bright colors.....

As you know, I have limited fabrics but I do have the Samoan Fabrics and Batiks that I literally hand carried from Hawaii to Texas.

Here is what I am doing with them.



I was going to do like the pattern and just put these squares side by side but it was just way to busy so I decided to use black to offset the bright busyness of the fabrics and I am here to tell you that this quilt even on my design floors is amazing (even if I say so myself). That black just sets off each fabric. I can't wait to get it all together....ran out of black....

Gotta go to JoAnn's....say it ain't so....



Then, Sandy before she became very ill was so worried that I would not have any fabric and so she had my sister send me some and this is what I received.....



My sister knows I love snowmen....ummm ummm happy days...now let us see if I can do something with these before Christmas of next year. Thanks Sandy!!

JANOME HORIZON 7700QCP DEBUT....known as Mr. Big or my Big guy!!

Here he is in all of his sewing glory.... I promised I would do a review on this Horizon but if you go to this Janome site(just click on Janome site) it will take you to where you can get all the information you need....



I want you to take a look at all of the sewing space it provides. This is great for machine quilting but I am sooooo in love with the extra space it gives me for scissors, material pieces, hand room and elbows.......it is awesome,....like another sewing area.



I didn't want to take up to much of your blogging time that is why I provided you with the site if you want to know more, I am just going to show you a few features that I love at this moment. I am sure there will be more but for now.....

I love love love...did I say love....this feature...just by a touch of the pad this goes from this...



To this..... No more eating my fabric edges....no more fabric chewing frustrations...



Next is, it offers all these blanket stitches....talk about having a time trying to decide which ones to use....



I will show you one thing I do not like.... When I want to use my dual feed, I have to use these clod hoppers....see how big and clunky they are...
It wouldn't be so bad but......



Like when I wanted to sew over a bulk of fabric shown below....the fabric would get stuck under the clunkers and this is what would happen. What an eye sore...what a frustration. I would have to remember to pull up the foot and get a tool to stuff the fabric back and then sew, if I did not remember...I would get this. No fun but well....I am easy (not to easy) but I can deal with this...maybe there is a way around this?



My overall review....I totally love this machine....Mr. Pfaff has no need to worry, I love him too...the one that has to worry is my husband (wink! wink!)....

NEW QUILT DESIGN

Most of you know that a few months ago my sister Jeanette of Inchworm Fabrics got a new logo for her blog. I loved this logo sooo much....


That I set about making a quilt...and this is what I came up with. Once again, no backing fabric...for once I have batting and no backing fabrics,what is up with that????

Now before some of you comment on how much I am doing, I had the top made in Samoa...I just got busy traveling and packing that I didn't have time to do the borders...... I decided to go simple with the borders and hope it is not too busy.



Notice my new signature? Naomi from Nome's brag-a-long did a post on signatures and I so loved hers and commented that hers was so much better than my kindergarden signature...before I knew it, she had sent me a signature.... I just love it...now I just need to get my signature heart on there.

I always would leave my son David a note if I was leaving before he got up and always sign my notes with love mom and then the heart with eyes and mouth. One day he left me a note, signed David and a heart...I chuckled to myself and cherish that note, I probably still have it.

The disappointing thing about these wall hangings is that the green in the photo are not what they are in person....looks odd in the photo.

Then....I have no backing fabric...could use a sheet? That is one bad thing about not having a stash....and it is tooooooooooooo stinking cold to get out. Although, my car is in the shop and will have to go and pick it up later...do I want to...no way...will I...boss man says definietly!!!

ANTIQUE YO YO QUILT

If I wasn't so lazy, I would retake these pictures...but call me lazy...call me cold...call me real cold.

So......

Vance and I have this friend in Texas. Vance has known her since his youth and I since we got married.

She came to me one day and gave me this quilt. The yo yo's are 1-1/2 inches in diameter finished.

I told her to give it to one of her daughters....to beautiful to just give away.



She said that her daughters would not appreciate it like I would. I can't vouch for her daughters but I do so love this quilt.

It was hanging in my foyer in Texas.



I don't know how old it is so I am showing some close ups....this one is not too good.



Here is a better one.....I told you all that I turn into a reptile when it is cold...the colder it gets the slower I go. I am old lady slow today. The mail man came and neither Vance or I want to walk out in the cold for the mail....pretty pathetic are we.
