What is up with the Scraps?

I think my scraps have it in for me. No, really....... as you can see, I have been cutting hexagons like mad....I have made other scrap quilts, sent out scrap tumblers....scrap this! scrap that!.....but at night....

when it is quiet in the house

and no one is around.....

The lights are out! The lady of the house has finally gone to bed.

I think they scrap breed.

Yes, that is right, scrap breed......this is what will be in my garbage at night....

I think they crawl out and this is what I see in the morning...

All I am saying is......I cut out of my scraps, give scraps and what do I get but a load of scraps. What is up with all the scrap breeding???

  1. They are mad at you for throwing them out and not doing anything with them.LOL, They feel left out so why not use them to stuff pillows, dolls toys, etc...

  2. Mr Hubby is sneaking out and buying extra pieces of fabric you already have and cutting it into "chunks" that he tosses in the scrap bin while Barb is asleep! He knows it keeps her busy!

  9. It does seem like scraps breed! I used to keep all the little scraps but I was getting overrun with them!

  10. Oh, you have my empathy. It is amazing how these things happen when we aren't looking, but I guess that is better than a fabric dearth, right?

  16. I don't know how they breed, but I can guarantee you my 2.5" strips (all the scraps I save) have multiplied 3 times in the past year.

  17. Lucky you! Scraps are wonderful. When you get started making hexagons it will eat up a bunch of those scraps. I would rather have scraps than yardage.

  18. After seeing your neat little pile of strip scraps, I think it would be neat to wrap themn little at a time as you use scraps, into a cute little ball. I've seen rubber band balls, and that's what that reminded me of. lol
    Happy Quilting!

  19. Gosh, Barb. I was complaining about the same thing yesterday and Emily from Em's Scrapbag left me a message saying that in the middle of the night, while we sleep, the scraps have wild parties and multiply like bunnies! Now you say 'scrap breed', so it must be true.

  20. Very funny. Scraps must be the bunnies of the fabric world.

  23. Hi barb!

Quick question for you...when you received your GO! did it come with the 4 1/2" square and the 2 1/2" square and the 2" square triangle...this is before you picked your three? Just wondering...
    Thanks -Paulette
