AWESOME THINGS HAPPENING OVER HERE..... NOPE I HAVEN'T BEEN MISSING BUT I AM BACK!!!!!

For starters, I have had computer and internet troubles, so it just wasn't worth trying to get on.

Good things are happening though.....just take a look!!

We went to our son's house and he gave me his discarded computer, he gets a new one every two years.
That solved my computer problem and thus enabled me to get on the internet easier.

Then my son and his family moved out and that solved the internet problem....too many fish in the pond.

After they moved out the very next day I moved into my old sewing room, decided that having more plugs would be beneficial.

Took me two days to move in and I still have a few things to put up and move around but for the most part I am in....whohooooooo

Let's take a look (my disclaimer) I have a bunch of hodge podge stuff but for me it works in a wonderful way.  Maybe I will eventually repaint a few things.  The old desk was in this house when we moved in but great for my computer.

Here goes....

We have a storage room where that door is.  The desk and computer are on the other side of the door.

I decided to put a long table in to hold my projects that need binding.  As you can see, I am already making a mess of the room....haha....doesn't take long.

My Jazz is on this table.  I really need some closets to hide most of my stuff but hey, I am grateful for what I have.

Embroidery Machine, I know you are all going duhhhhhh

I don't like my back to the door that people use to come into the house.  Having my machine set up this way I can see outside, see the TV, and see who comes in the door.

I didn't take a picture along the wall because I have a ton of stuff I am giving to a friend for her garage sale.

The most amazing thing is this next picture.

Yesterday I am in my sewing room with my back to the door..... I just don't like not seeing when someone is coming in.  I hear my husband come in and say, "You deserve it".......I thought what???

I turned around, looked and by my leg (note:  I did not notice this when I came in the room nor when I was standing there by the table), by my leg was two big boxes....I asked, what is this.  I was in total shock when I saw the Janome on the side of the box.  My husband said he had done his research and thought this would be a wonderful machine for me.  Oh boy is it ever.....  I sewed all last night.  Is he a keeper or what?????

Soooooooo I AM BACK!!!!

On a side note, my sister Jeanette, at Inchworm Fabrics is having a giveaway this month.  I have not gone by to check it out but I will.

UP CYCLING - winner of the "Little Gem's" ebook and fabric

We had a little junk exchange at church on Friday and Saturday.  Great way to get rid of a lot of things but also have to use control when looking through others items hummmmm.....  Here WAS hoping I would go home with less.

When I brought this headboard home my husband said "What in the world did you bring home?"  I told him my plans for the head board (his eyes rolled).....
I did a humpf

immediately brought it in and did this!!!

Then wasted no time in using it.

Notice that table

my mother's bed use to be there for when she wanted to come and visit.

Well......

I had a son leave home (no dancing here......... (smiling))

So............the bed went into the spare room and now I have more room.....and the sewing room is looking more like a sewing room.

The only thing I have left is to get a cabinet to hide all and I do mean ALL of the UFO's....

I tend to pile.

(still not dancing.....HA!!!!)  okay, maybe a little.

I was going to show you more of the room but....the fabrics need to be reorganized, I need to do something with the piles....Oh....I am also working on a project for Island Batik and.....a project of my own.

I had to find some fabric to finish my one project....can't wait to show you but yep....two projects going on so you can imagine the whirl wind.

SOME HAVE ASKED AND SO TODAY I AM GOING TO DELIVER - PICTURES OF MY NEW SEWING ROOM

This will be under a controlled environment, you will only be able to see what I am allowing.  So all of you march forward.

Here is one of my favorite spots.  I love the pictures of my sons.  Still working on the treadle machine.

Bookshelf by the door.  Don't mind the pink slippers, they were not invited in this picture.  I have whittled through alot of my books and magazine and so glad that I did.

This is between the two big windows, This bed is my mother's.  The first thing I obtained was her bed so she can have a place to sleep while visiting .  My son is on it right now.  I had it soo cute.....(news flash, boys do not like cute....it is all he can do to sleep on that pink pillow case...ha!!)  The ironing board was not invited in this picture either.
I worked on these yesterday.   I do not know if I like this gals digitizing...the faces seem messed up to me.

Here is my brain, you will find in here past ideas, ideas that came to fruition, and some are just laying dormat waiting for me to come and rescue them.  See, there is not much to my brain....just some scraps and scribblings.
 Projects I am working on
cutting mat....husband said the quilt was straight....hummmmm  was he looking at it sideways?

Here is my sewing necleus....where everything happens at Bejeweled!

The green desk and the desk the embroidery machine were found in the out building.  I just cleaned them up and here they are.  The desk my sewing machine is on my son let me use (he was so gracious and brought all of his furniture for us to store while he is gone for 10 months).  We are such lucky parents!!!    It is so nice sewing on solid surfaces instead of those portable tables.

There you have it, still a work in progress....needs more organizing but hey...at least I am in and sewing.

Oh Happy Days.....Oh Happy Daaaays....

HATS IN THE ATTIC

Don't mind the washing machine in the background (yep....now you all notice it, maybe I should not have said anything).

Here are the hats we found in the attic.

The owner of these hats must have had a small head.

Here is a funny looking one
Here is the inside of the funny looking one.
This one is all feathers and there is a netting inside.

The one at the top is so funny looking, my husband thought it was a wig....HUH????

I can see Lucille Ball wearing the one on the right.

These are satin.

It was so fun finding these hats, now to find a vintage store that would love to have them.  I personally do not need all of these things.  I am even thinking of selling the quilt squares I have found...yes, I found more.  So if any of you might be interested...just give me a shout out and I will send over pictures.  I will never finish them.

Next...to leave you with a photo of my sewing room today.  Husband spent yesterday building a temporary chicken coop so my room was on hold....but today I think we are going to put the last mudd on it and we will begin the painting tomorrow.  Did I hear someone Whoop????

OF COURSE WE HAVE TO CLEAN OUR SPOT FIRST!!

It seems that every time I want to get down and dirty with my sewing that I have to clean my sewing room first?

What is up with that?

I could be a messy quilter????

I could be a lazy quilter (not willing to take the time to pick up after myself as I sew).

I could be a "I don't care" quilter.....don't care about the mess and don't care how long it sits there.
to be honest, I hate clutter.....

Hummmmmm

Maybe I am  an unorganized quilter?

No matter how hard I try....just don't make the gravy.

So my floors are swept.

My table is cleaned off.

Do many of you do this?

I cut off an old Clorox bottle and used it for a catch all by my sewing machine.

So I moved it and decided to put a smaller one next to the machine hoping that I could not catch too

much in it.

I notice that I clean it out more...and notice that the Clorox bottle is not cleaned out yet....

Do I really need those items?

  Hummmmm

Now...when I cook, I clean as I go so there is not so much to clean when I am done.

My mother taught me to clean the bathroom as I am in there...

So....what can I say?

I make my bed when I get out of it....

So why can't I keep my sewing room organized.

I have seen some of your sewing rooms....

I have a drool rag next to me when I see them and my sin of envy comes out.

Does it really matter? I am happy...you are happy....

Happy!  Happy!  Joy! Joy!

So...don't judge me....!!

Now to some down and dirty sewing...it is serious business today....WHOOOOOOOOO

Let the sewing commence.

Oh by the way, I failed to mention that the runner  Gobble Gobble was made with the Accuquilt Go cutter, I used the Heather Feather die # 2 and the heart die.  I don't have the letter's die but if you have that you are set.  Even if you do not have this Accuquilt Go cutter, the applique pieces are included so you can cut them out youself.

Maybe I will see you there?

.

So I have my sewing room back....HOORAY for me!!!

I will miss this one son but he is only an hour and a half away.
He was always so sweet to me.
He would always make me smile when he would go "Who is the best mom in the world".... of course, we know he was blowing smoke but it still made me smile.
