COME LET US ADORE HIM!!

If you have been visiting my blog, you will know that I have been working on "Starry Night"

Last week I was not able to sew any, was busy babysitting while my son helped my husband put in the metal post.  I helped with the heavy log post but the metal ones I was not able to help with.  So my son and his family came for four day.  During that time, there was no sewing for me except that I was able to cut out all of the remaining blocks which helped a ton this week.

  Isn't he cute???

I used so many different batiks.  Java Batiks from Inchworm fabrics, Island Batiks, Batiks I have hoarded over the years from Hawaii and Marshalls.

Guess what????  Come on guess????

The top is done!!!!!!

I am so excited.  This was such a fun quilt.

I will show you when I can clear up a space to lay it out or hang it up.  Or maybe when it is totally finished????

This next is the backing for a king size quilt.  I had some left over stars.  You are actually looking at the wrong side of the backing.  I had a time working with all of that fabric.  I was totally pooped when I got it all done and thrown over the machine.  I just need to load it.  I have to tell ya.  I was not happy when I went to my long arm.  Some of the fabrics that are attached to the poles were off.....I have my grandsons to thank for that.  Good thing none of them were around...HaHa

It is a rainy rainy week and cold.

SLAVING OVER MY IRON AND LONGARM...POOR ME (SMILING)

This week I have been working on my Island Batik project for this months blog hop.
If you want the line up, just see the post below this one or go here:  That way you can sign up for the giveway.
Notice the Aurfil thread?  It matches but I decided to go with dark brown for the front....and I am worried I will not have enough.  It takes a lot of thread to do a king size quilt....hummm  should have thought of that.

This is my backing which is 108" fabric, got it from Marshalls but I had to extend it 10 inches on the top and sides.  Try ironing it....

Took me a evening to iron and get it on the longarm.
Looks like I am crooked here....ignore that.

I have been working on this mostly at night.  My mother has been taking a good portion of my days lately.

Next I want to show you the most fun thing I ordered.

Messy bobbing...usually there are threads everywhere!!!

Not any more with these Tulips Bobbin Clamps

Do I sound like a commercial (smiling) trust me, there is nothing in it for me but happiness.

I love them.....

SCREEN BAG AND AWESOME FABRICS

Saturday night I stayed up and made this fun little Screen bag.  I made one for my mother a while back.  Her's was wider than this one so I am having trouble deciding if I like the wider one or this one.  Those are pockets in between the handles

Here are some awesome Honeycomb fabrics.  My husband gifted these to me for our 36th anniversary.  There are seventeen colors at six yards each.

I just have to sigh with happiness.

Here are just a few of the lovely colors

These fabrics came from Marshall Dry Goods (Wholesale).  Anyone can order them.  My sister, Beverly, and mother drove down there last year.  About five hours away and back in one day.  You are tired when you get there but oh my gosh.....the excitement of all that fabric will perk anyone up.

We were like kids in a candy store.

These were ordered by phone and of course there is a nice shipping fee but even with the shipping fee these fabrics were less than 2.50 a yard.

You might be thinking....oh....for that price the quality is not very good.

I am here to tell you that the quality is excellent, the colors vibrant....and if you doubt me, come  see and feel....  Oh yes, I am unselfish that way....I will let you feel my fabric any day.  Getting it past the door is another story.

I also wanted to mention that I am not affiliated with this store at all....I am just a gal that knows a good deal when she see it and a husband that feeds my addiction.

Last time I purchased some seconds (bundle) and I guess I got lucky because I hardly saw  the flaws in the fabrics.

They do have a retail side that you can get smaller quantities.

Enjoy your day...from this picture I am sure you know where I will be....pet and fold....sigh
