ANOTHER FIND IN MY ATTIC
Yesterday one of my sons went up into the attic and passed down a box that was labeled "Quilt Tops" 1966
Oh my goodness yes......
There are forty of these blocks
I actually made this quilt when I first stated quilting for a young gal who graduated college. Wish I had a picture but I don’t.
I didn’t have much money so I used two different color sheets, I blanket stitched the flower center and hand quilted it…what was I thinking?
You can go here for the pattern: Here is is called the Amish Dahlia, also known as the Missouri Daisy among other names.
Hope all of you are having a fabulous day today…I sure am, it is exciting to see what all is in this box, come back again for the rest of the story.

Those are beautiful Barb. I am sure they will be well loved and not put back in the attic.
Fabulous blocks! I look forward to seeing what you do with them!
The blocks are wonderful and a part of your quilting history!! All the best, Barb!!
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
What an amazing find. I truly do believe someone above really wanted you to buy this house and make it your forever home. And, that they knew you'd love their quilts and quilting in this home as much as they did. How very special. I look forward to learning more about what is in this box and any historical insights you might find. Enjoy!

You lucky girl you! Thanks for the link...can't wait to see you put these together!
I have a couple of those I found in my mom's fabric stash when she passed away. I'm not sure if she made them or maybe one of my grandmas. Thanks for the pattern link.
What are you going to do with the blocks Barb? They are fabulous. You can make toppers and runners.

I am ready to go play treasure hunter in your attic!
Your attic has turned out to be magic, lucky you, I wonder what other treasures will turn up.
These are gorgeous! I remember my grandmother making them in the 70's and she called it the Sunflower. Cool memories!
What fun!!!!!! That is a great pattern.
Very Cool! Love it!
These are great! Lots of fun in your future!
Beautiful blocks Barb, now to figure out how to put them into a quilt.
Wonderful blocks....can't wait to see more of what you found!
Wow! What a treasure! I am truly coveting those blocks :)
I have been looking through your posts with all your fantastic finds. I have a double knit quilt made out of those blocks. I have an old pattern book with that pattern in it. I have actually thought of making the quilt again but out of up to date fabrics. Don't know if I will try to start it this year or not.
