So I thought I was done with this quilt, waves and all but....
it kept haunting me so I put it in the wash....and this is what I got....
I wish that underarm wave was as easy to get rid of...
Whohoooo
So...yesterday I was going to spend the day blanket stitching various projects....hummmm
that went out the window. I had so many things fighting for my attention, new ideas....you name it....so...I think I got two flowers blanket stitched and that was it.
Oh well...tomorrow (today) is another day!
Hey, it looks good to me.
ReplyDeleteI like your idea of spending a day blanket stitching various projects that need blanket stitching. I have oodles and should probably do a bunch of them at once. Great idea. Thanks!

Thanks for that. I am currently finishing quilting a quilt that I know is going to be wavy, and just last night decided to take it off the frame, take the borders off and see if there was anything I could do. Now I think I'll just carry on, so I think you've just saved me a lot of time.
ReplyDeleteAlrighty then! I had a feeling...
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it laid flat after washing.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great. Some days are sewing days and some days are not.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on such a great finish Barb
ReplyDeleteWell look at that.. it did go flat! Yes my underarm wave can almost knock me over when I wave good bye to my sweeties!

Sometimes washing a quilt is all it needs to "sort it out" - I am glad this one worked out for you.
ReplyDeleteGreat news! I see you've added a few new steps to your Happy Dance.......giggles here ;-)

So glad you didn't give up on your LIttle Birdies! Nice!
ReplyDeleteWoohooo!!! It looks great too.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to give one of my wavy quilts a wash and see if that helps. I seem to have the worse trouble with that. Your quilt looks wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing what a wash can do, eh? :D Are you talking about this underarm wave right here. . . ? Been giving me fits! ;D
ReplyDeleteGlad your quilt decided to lay flat, it is very pretty. As for the underarm wave---We call it UADD--under arm dingle dangle.HA I like underarm wave.
ReplyDeleteYes Barb sometimes is there a wizard where you can´t imagine. I could never have thought that he had his magical stick in the washing machine.
ReplyDeleteIt is a wonderful quilt.
Hugs from Sweden
Really love this quilt and very partial to pieced and embroidered quilts. The quilting and washing of the quilt married everything together greatly. Judy C
ReplyDeleteThat looks wonderful to me. Don't you love it when your quilts behave?
ReplyDeleteYAY!!!
ReplyDeleteWooHoo!! Bye Bye wave. Barb, your Birdie quilt looks great. I keep thinking how my blocks are sitting on a shelf waiting to become a quilt. Once I am done with all this baby sewing maybe I can get it put together and quilted.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great Barb! I still have a block and a half to finish up. It was my summer goal to complete the quilt; I better get moving on it :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so pretty Barb!
