I don't know if any of you remember but after I got the third row on this quilt I went to wash off the marker that I used to mark the quilt and it ran everywhere. So much so that I had to put it in the washer.
What a mess, I had to detangle threads....I was so disheartened.
I didn't even want to finish this quilt but I decided to go ahead and do so.
Here it is, a little wavy......
but I am pleased with how it turned out and the wave may leave when it is washed.
I just did a big meander because like I said, I was not happy with this quilt and felt I was doing good just to finish it.
It's so cute! Glad you powered through and finished it. :o)

I think it's beautiful,well done for persevering :) Barb.
ReplyDeleteIt turned out cute! Maybe if you block it when you dry it and then steam the edges the waves will flatten out.
ReplyDeletelooks like it turned out ok any way
ReplyDeleteI think it looks wonderful Barb! Congratulations on getting it finished! :0)
ReplyDeleteSorry all that happened but looks good to me! You going to hang in your sewing studio? As a attagal! You fought the running marker and won!
ReplyDeleteCame out great!! Hope it washes up & gets the wave out!!!
ReplyDeleteI like it, Barb!! Good for you for fixing it after the problems. Sometimes a good, long break from a problem project makes it so much easier to work with when we finally come back to it.
ReplyDeleteHey - when you did the stitching, did you use an outline stitch or something else?
I think it looks great. Someone will enjoy cuddling under this quilt. Are you still doing stitcheries?
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your birdie quilt. Glad you decided to finish it. It turned out so nice!
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful Barb, I love the border fabric.
ReplyDeleteAwesome finish!
ReplyDeleteTurned out very nicely. What kind of marker did you use. I ask so that I won't use it on my quilts.
ReplyDeleteThe birdies quilt looks great. Glad you got it done despite the heartache!

ReplyDeleteYou certainly do not see the problem in the photo, Barb. It looks great.

ReplyDeletewell you did a great job rescuing the quilt. Don't worry about the wavy borders just enjoy the quilt. We all have waves.
ReplyDeleteThe embroidery is so cute. You should be proud of it.

ReplyDeleteI think that is a great quilt! Congrats on the finish!
ReplyDeleteBarb I love the way this quilt turned out - and I remember how upset you were when that happened but it worked out beautifully. I love the colors you used in the embroidery. blessings, marlene
