This first picture is taken on my floor and let me tell you that this picture does not bring this quilt justice. It is more stricking in person, I have heard other quilters say that about their quilts.
I appreciated everyones comments....this picture is on my king size bed, so this top will fit a single bed nicely. I took Linda's advice about the pansy border, I too love the fabric, I have been carrying it around with me for over 5 years and finally found a home for it. I also liked Jane's Fabric and Quilts idea of the green...so I just incorperated them both. I thought the green would just give it more definition.
Absolutely beautiful! The borders look great. And you finished it so quickly. I'm impressed. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteOh, Barbara....that quilt is absolutely STUNNING...it really is!!! I think it is one of the prettiest quilts I've seen lately...and I must visit about 50 blogs a day, on average. You did a super job on this!!! The fabric choices were just perfect.

ReplyDeleteBarb, your quilt turned out beautifully. I love the border treatment, it really ties things together. I think I'd better get one of those rulers :0)
ReplyDeleteBarb
I said it before and I will say it again, that quilt is just amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI of course thought purple - but, the green is exactly what was needed!!! And, I love the pansy border...
ReplyDeleteOh, Barb, it turned out so pretty! I love it...
This is gorgeous. And you're right - the pansy fabric is the perfect frame for those beautiful kaleidoscope blocks. Since I saw your post about the ruler, I've been stalking ebay and seriously considering buying one. I'd never even seen them before. (But I think I'd better finish some other projects before I head into a new one!)
