So I made this yesterday, all it is lacking is the border. I plan to put black with about a half inch yellow (because that is all I have) and then black again.
I would have had this on last night but....for Valentines and for our 30th Anniversary which will be the 27th of this month, he brought me this awesome camera. Trust me when I say that it is way beyond my capabilities. Anyways, my son downloaded the CD into my laptop (so I can download pictures) and then the family computer. My laptop crashed...couldn't get into it at all...just a screen and well.....that is why it wasn't put on last night. During the night the family computer crashed. My husband spent a good part of his morning getting them back into working order... Thank heavens for him. Come to find out that we didn't even need the CD to download the pictures.....hummmm
What is really amazing is that my husband told me he should be buying me diamonds and gold....and I told him that he knows that I really don't care for those things (they are nice but who cares) and that I love the camera. He said I was worth alot more. I should have recorded the conversation for when I get back home to the states and remind him of this when I want that new Longarm machine.......
You really can't tell by the picture but this quilt has a movement in it, kinda like the "Storm at Sea" does.... In fact, this picture does not do this quilt justice either...but once again, this is not something I would normally do, maybe that is why I am having so much fun with this ruler because it is out of my realm.
WOW...you are a sewing dynamo!!! Love this one, too! AND...how nice of your hubby to say what he said and to get the new camera and to get the computer back up and running. I knew there was something wrong when my blog said you HAD this post, but it wasn't showing up on your blog until tonight. I think when you go back to the states, you need to live in a COLD place as you will have so many great bed quilts to keep you warm. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in this one. I am amazed (and a little envious...LOL) at how quickly you are putting these together!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet thing your husband said. Congratulations on your 30 years together!
Que bonita es! What vivid colors. I really like it. You're really getting your money's worth out of that ruler! Your new camera is taking very nice pictures. My camera kept washing the colors out of my quilt today. It works much better in natural light.
ReplyDeleteI think you're right about stippling the back of my quilt in a contrasting color. I haven't tried that before, but I think I'm up to it. We'll see how it goes. lol
Happy quilting!

BTW Your floors are INCREDIBLY clean! I'm impressed; it looks like you could eat off of them.
WOW! That is really a great top.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of camera did you get? I am thinking about getting a new one too.
Wow, that is my favorite, fun bright colors, the camera took great pictures, and boy do you work fast, just love it! congrats on your 30th we are working on 32. Amazing quilt!!
ReplyDeleteThat is really gorgeous. There is so much movement and life in it.
ReplyDeleteBarb this quilt is spectaular.
ReplyDeleteLike you I no longer require jewels and such. I prefer my quilting supplies and trips.
You certainly are having a good time! It is so fun to see when someone is so excited about a quilting tool or a quilt pattern - and then to see the creations they make...
ReplyDeleteMakes me more inspired to do more!!!
Amazing! I just giggle when you say "I made this one YESTERDAY!" LOL! It would take me two years to finish a quilt like that.
ReplyDeleteSmiles,

Beautiful Quilt. Really stunning! And congrats on the new camera. Fun stuff. ooxx`jodi
ReplyDeleteOh, this is gorgeous, and an inspiration. I can see the movement. But I'd love to see it in person.
ReplyDeleteI told my husband several yers ago to stop with the gold and gems. Now I get tools, warm gloves, a new shovel, a heavy duty hose that won't kink. You get the idea. But I love them and need them!
Ahh, I like the colors in the quilt and if you concentrate on it you can see some of the movement. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteHow bright & cheerful!
ReplyDeleteIt just glows.
Great job!
Don't you just love it when you get your $$'s worth out of a gadget? I know I do!

Girl friend, do you ever sleep??? You must sew 20 hours a day to get all that you done as fast as you get it done! People used to say I sew things up quickly--girl, you've got me beat!
