Sept 4 – Dec. 13th

Michelle has done a fabulous job arranging this Block Party, she has a wonderful deal each day that it runs…lots of hard work.  Be sure when you stop by to thank her for this or at least comment.

Now for my block.  I have to say that I had an idea, cut it out and it just sat on my cutting table for weeks….seriously.  I wasn’t happy with it.  Then….about two weeks ago I received a package from Inchworm Fabrics , when I saw the Harvest Moon charm pack….the wonderful colors….awesome smell (yes, I smell my fabric)….and I fondle it too.
That is when fur started flying, out with the old block in with the new.  I hope you like it.

I used 7 charm squares from Harvest Moon by Moda,  one 12 1/2” square (all fabrics were provided by  Inchworm fabrics).
One owl button from ButtonMAD, about six inches of rick rack, Steam A Seam or fabric bonding of your choice, and small beads.

Yep…those that know me would have no trouble guessing that I would do an applique block, with blanket stitching.
I wanted to add texture so I made the squirrels tail fluffy….and the little tuff on his head.  In the pattern download it will show you how I did this and
 of course, is optional.

You can get the instructions here:

I guess you can say Inchworm Fabrics is my sponsor because she is giving away two charm packs for two winners on her blog  for me and 15% off in her store, she gives you the code.  Thanks Inchworm!  Thanks Michelle!!!

Inchworm Fabrics also sent me a charm pack to give away today on my blog....would love for you to be a follower but not necessary....just leave a comment.

The deal of the day is at Christa's Quilts!  Remember every day there is a new design there is a new deal!

WHAT WAS I THINKING?

IMG_1091
Today I am working on my “Dots to Dots” hop, you can click on the picture on the right and find out the info about it.

Then….I am working on the block I am designing for “Quilting Gallery”, once again check the side for
Block Party.

Then…..I am doing a book review for Ebony…..

and so…. I am saying to myself….

what was I thinking?

Other than that…not much is going on.

My friend JoAnna did come by Friday and spent the night.  We stayed up until one playing with my Go cutter (in fact, she ordered her one)…should I feel bad about that?

Then Saturday we went to Big Lots…she purchased all of their fabric….(once again…GUILTY)…..

Then we go to the nearest quilt store and she just went hog wild.  She told me as she was checking out that she was going to have to have a long talk with me about my influence on her.

I took some gulps…..several gulps…. beads were forming on my forehead…  of course, you know I am exaggerating…she did say that but I just laughed.  How was I to know that I was going to spark her desire to get back into sewing?  I am totally innocent!!

BABY QUILT!

Debi over at "Quilting with Debi" made this adorable quilt for her grandson. If you haven't visited her blog, you really should, she is one fast quilter/crafter and does some of the most fun things.

She now has it entered in the Quilting Gallery contest for the week.
Won't you go and vote for her quilt HERE.

Those dragons were one of the first things I embroidered when I got my machine. Debi loved them so much that she became the proud owner of them.

It would be wonderful if you would vote for her.

TODAY'S POST IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY KFC

I know that most of you have seen these containers at KFC....I just can't stand to throw them away....

I put my beads in them...they stack nicely.

Bobbins....the container is small enough to fit in a small drawer...

My favorite meal...chicken breast, roll, and mashed potatoes...ummm ummmm good.

The next picture is my ironing boards.....I thought I was going to have to replace the cover...

But I washed it (laughing)...imagine that!!! Novel concept....

The other day I could not thread the sewing machine needle for the life of me. I read somewhere that if you put a little glue on the end of the thread it would thread easier. I was desperate so I got my little glue stick out and slid the tip of the thread in glue....

IT WORKED!!!! You don't need much so it dries really fast.... Glue sticks are cheap, insanity is expensive!!

Hope you all have an amazing day.....remember the giveaway is HERE

I WON!!! I won the baby quilt contest at the quilting gallery with my octopus quilt....thanks to all of you!!
