ONE THING A QUILTER MUST NEVER DO!!

Is run out of batting!!!  I am getting close but before I am totally out I ordered from JoAnn's, they are having my favorite batting for half off and free shipping.  Here is the link if you are interested.

I love love the Warm and White, my backing fabric sticks to it therefore I have less wrinkles in the back.  It will be safe to say that more often than not I have no wrinkles.  Out of all the quilts I have done this year, I had one wrinkle.

Notice that I waited until I had ordered before I told you....(silently laughing).

Now I am working on these wonderful Island Batiks, using Strawberry Fields Forever.  I am forever in love with these fabrics.  I have four rows now (too lazy to show you) but later...

I think I might have enough fabric to make another row making it four by four.  Then a nice border to make it fit my king size bed.  I think I can do it....I think I can.

So....hopefully, I will not run out of fabric before I accomplish my goal.

I finished this Braid quilt.  It has been in my UFO pile for about two years, maybe a little less but I am so glad to get it done.  Didn't have any fabric for the binding but I made do with a lime green binding.  I think it works.

The winner of Jacquelynne Steve's patterns is 6 Buttons,
congrats to her and thanks so much for all of the wonderful comments.  Once again most of the comments did not make it to my hotmail in box but I do appreciate you coming by.

Such a beautiful day outside, I just might take advantage of it and go outside and play.

So for this week-end,
I wish for you a continual flow of fabric and creative juices,
May your batting be enough,
your threads be plenty,
your scissors sharp
and seam rippers dormat!!

IF YOU CAN'T DANCE, SWIRL!!!

I finished this yesterday..... (not a good picture).  There is more sparkle and color than what is showing here.
So...HERE I am swirling away.  I decided to make a tree skirt.

No pattern...just a round cut out with ruffles....

I used my method of making the circle here except I did not use paper, I just used the back of the fabric and chalk.

When I am done swirling, I will cut the opening in the middle and down the side and bind.

I had to make a trip to JoAnn's (yes....rough trip) today to get fabric for the ruffle.

Unfortunately, I did not get enough.

As I was contemplating my dilemma ......my oldest son walked in the room.  Can you see the wheels turning in my head!

 Poor guy!

It didn't hurt to ask because he went!!!!
and even gifted me some fabric!

This gal was swirling!!!! I will make a mental note...send oldest son to JoAnn's more often!

WHAT'S IN YOUR WALLET?

I finished this reindeer the night before I left....uploaded on flickr and I invite all of you when you finish your reindeers to upload as well.

Now to show you what is in my wallet. My husband's eyes bugged out when he saw all of these pouches,bags...and I didn't show you the two cosmetic bags in the bathroom right now. He just laughed...but I laughed at all of his electric cords in his suitcase. At least my stuff in organized in one compartment.
A pouch for my jewelry, kindle cord and camera cords, bag for medicine (gotta have headache medicine), bag for embroidery, computer cords etc....the list goes on.

Now to give my husband credit, he is so organized and all of his things are wrapped nicely with rubber bands around them (so much better than what I would have done...the cords and wires would have free range with me and get tangled up).

Oh...that pink bag is my camera battery charger (yes...I did finally find it the day before we left)...sheweee how I looked for that. I kept thinking if I could only remember what color bag it was in. Now I know and it is documented.

What do you see below? I am trying to support my friend Caroll in her embroidery reindeer games. I sit here wanting my machine so badly....but keeping my hands busy doing this is therapy for now.
What you see below is some awesome Batiks fat quarters, eight of them. I got them at JoAnn's for five bucks. Oh yes....the package had been damaged. When I saw the price my eyes bugged out, I looked around like I was stealing .... snatched up the bag of fat quarters and ran to the counter...didn't want anyone to change their minds .... I also got the 2" Go cutter strip die for 19.00, I purchased it for a friend. What was I thinking? I didn't buy me one...I went back a few days later and it was regular price.....I felt my boot on my bootie for not getting one earlier.
The weather in San Antonio is totally wonderful....it feels like home.

I AM SEEING DRAGONS!!

I did these Saturday!!! Don’t you just love them?

Every Saturday morning my husband wakes me up and ask, “Are you ready to Go”……I am half asleep but I am

thinking…..do I look like I am ready to go? So I jump out of bed and off we go to…..(well…not until I shower and fix myself up some…

the older one gets, the harder it is to get up and go).

JOANN’s

Now I am not a morning person, and I do not like to be woke up but if I know that it is to JoAnn’s we go…..you bet I am going to

hop out of the bed with a smile on my face. I think that is why he does it. After JoAnn’s we get a Route 44 Diet Cherry

Limeade. Oh boy!!! It just doesn’t get much better than that.

So….yesterday he asked…..you want to go to JoAnn’s in the morning? I am thinking……has this man lost it. We just went Saturday and he knows that

I can not go into JoAnn’s and not spend. To top it off, the man likes to go in with me. I prefer he stay in the car, I feel a lot more comfortable about

spending when he is not around (so you see me smiling).

I must be sick because I declined…..so he is out racking the leaves (maybe that is why he wanted to go, to put off this task)?

I hope you all had a wonderful New Year's Day.......I am sure you are like me and have tons of plans, tons of UFO's and of course tons of time....(okay....wish you had tons of time). Least ways it will be another fun year of sharing!!!

A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING AND EVERYTHING IN IT'S PLACE

While growing up I heard this a hundred times.

Here are my storage bins.

No longer do I hunt for a rotary cutter or scissors (I guess some of you thought I didn't have enough)? This is so wonderful, it has restored some sort of organization to my sewing room. I am trying to get rid of alot of things....I can't stand clutter......but I can clutter up a space in no time flat.....I guess sometimes I am my own worst enemy.

Today I am going to rat out my husband.....well...not really rat...praise him.

Never have I had to empty his pockets, pick his clothes off the floor. He does not make messes (maybe in the kitchen with crumbs....or dishes).....he does not clutter things. If you were to see his side of the bathroom you would wonder if someone was there...but if you looked at mine....(oh....my....I guess I am ratting out myself....). I will stop while I am ahead.

SLICE FABRIQUE

Here is my Mother's Day gift to me...

I have been searching and searching for a good buy and finally I was able to get this half off at Joann's online.
Here is the glass cutting mat, with the sponge and adhesive.

Here is the fabric with fusible on the back, adhered to the cutting mat.

Here are cut outs from card stock.

Here are the cut outs from Fabrics.

I know that all of you would expect nothing but honesty from me so here goes.

I love the slice for all of the versatility it holds. The design cards have so many options in one card. I really like that. You can also chose the size up to 4 inches. I like that.

I think it is fabulous for scrapbookers.

If you like to do applique, it is great for you as well....

But......

I don't like the fact that you have to use adhesive to cut fabric. You have to keep it in stock so you can cut when you want. You also have to clean the glass between each cutting. You have to keep your hands on the machine while cutting. I thought you would be able to start the machine and leave....not so. You have to make sure the adhesive is dry before you cut or you get a mess.

This is great for those that have arthritis. You do get all the alphabets of any size or shape you want.

I will say that I do like the slice and think I will enjoy using it. I am so excited about all of the possibilities it holds. Will this take the place of my Go cutter....not a chance....
