I have had these fabrics sitting....taunting.....screaming at me from Island Batik
Raindrops - you can find the line on their site
This is one of my favorite patterns. I put batting behind the turtles and blanket stitched around them and then cut the batting away. I can't wait to actually quilt this and see if the desired effect I want happens.
Clever idea! Such a striking combination of batiks. Can't wait to see the finished product!
ReplyDeleteUhhh trapunto! I've tried that before and I loved the result, I didn't quilt anything inside the shape just outlined it when I quilted it and it got really puffy ( I think it was warn and natural batting btw) Now I did enter this quilt into a competition and got the feedback to quilt inside the shape, but that would make it less puffy..... sigh. I like MY way ;)
ReplyDeleteIf it doesn't, whatever happens will be great! How could it not, this is stunning. I'm starting to like turtles with your projects looking so good!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors, they are perfect for this quilt!
ReplyDeleteYou are a true quilter...no willpower when it comes to fabric! Love your colors and am anxious to see how you quilt it. I've never tried that method before.
