I have been waiting for this book for over a week now.
I ordered it directly from Green Fairy Quilts.
I just had to have it autographed by Judi, just had to.
It is so exciting to see Judi publish this book, she explains things that make it sound so easy.
Can it really be
that easy? Sure seems so.
She gives patterns for a few quilts and then shows how she quilted them.
I truly would recommend this book to anyone who wants to longarm and are just starting out or are like me and doing it on their domestic machine.

On a personal note, we have finally moved all of our things from San Antonio. I am here at our new home for good now
and my husband will join me at the end of the week.
The house is a wreck, a new bathroom is going up,
my sewing room
needs to be dismantled and put together again so still slow on the quilting side of life.
I am excited for the Christmas season but sad that I have done little in the way of using my Christmas fabrics, maybe next year?
My advice to all of you is to “Stop and smell the roses” we never know when they will wilt!
Awwww! I just got here and you're gone. That book looks fantastic. I am looking forward to practicing FMQ on my home machine now that I'm here and have a larger workspace. You've been awfully busy! That Christmas fabric will look just as delicious next year!!
ReplyDeleteOMG! Moving is so disruptive! So glad you are in your new place and can begin the process of setting back down :*) Looking forward to seeing all your fun projects next year :*)
ReplyDeleteI met Judy in Sandy at HMQ several years ago. Lucky you to get her book! Glad to hear that you're all moved. I sure hope that this is a very merry Christmas for you in your new home!
ReplyDeleteI did not realize you were moving again! I hope you have a blessed Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI hope you really enjoy your new home. May your first Christmas there be full of blessings.

So glad you are finally in your new home. I too have the book and just blogged about it yesterday. Judi is so talented. Feliz navidad Barb
ReplyDeleteJudi is certainly very talented!
ReplyDeleteYou must be glad to be in one place these days instead of going back and forth - I know I would be! I hope you're going to show photos of your renovations! Congrats on your husbands retirement.
First off, Merry Christmas to you and yours. I know you will love your home when your settled which takes a heap of time. We can challenge each other to use our Christmas fabrics for next year, sounds like a plan. I haven't posted it yet but I got my Christmas present early- Ray gave me the new Viking sit down quilt machine. Similar to the George but not as fancy. It does have the stitch regulator so I am excited. When Christmas is over I will be in the studio more and more--lots of things going on in the head for in t here and that machine. Will chat soon. Many hugs, Marie
ReplyDeleteI got my inscribed copy yesterday too! So excited!
ReplyDeleteCongrats and merry Christmas. Hugs
ReplyDeleteMine came this week too. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you will have more time for a lot of sewing once you are all settled, Barb.
Merry Christmas to you in your new location. Such a beautiful spot.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping that my book is on the way, it looks really good and I reckon I could learn a lot from it even though I use a robotic system.
ReplyDeleteI bet you'll be glad when it's the end of the week and your DH joins you. As for renovations, they're horrid when they're happening, but wonderful when they're done.
Have a great Christmas.
Yes, do smell the roses Barb. I hope you find lots of roses in your new home.
ReplyDeleteI love Julie's blog and her quilting is always just amazing , have fun with it.
ReplyDeleteWell I haven't done anything Christmasy this year and I don't have any good reason.
I am happy that you are finally in your new home and I think it must be exciting to know this is your last move. Will all of your boys be home for Christmas ? I am having Christmas this year both of my kids are coming with families.
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Blessings Sandra
