Some of you know that I am moving (AGAIN).....
My husband is retiring and the government does not give you a last move so we are having to move ourselves.
For the last three week-ends my husband and I have been loading the trailer and traveling eight hours to our new destination. We stay one or two days and then we are on the road again to San antonio.
So....as I was trying to give the new home some personality, I hug up a quilt, and little wall hanging and then one of my calendar quilts at the end of the bar... I went to get my camera to show you and guess what....
I would have travel eight hours to get it...hummmmm
When I was here last week-end I just felt that this house was lacking pizzazz....pop....
no personality but
it does now!!!!
Put a little Barb touch to it.
My son said it is starting to feel like home.
My husband had Jury duty Thursday and afterward we had planned to head out to our new home so while I was waiting I made this snap bags (click it). Don't you just love the turtle one????
I didn't realize you were from SA. So are you a lover of Puff Tacos?
ReplyDeleteLove the little snap bags! Have fun settling into your new home! :0)
ReplyDeleteSounds like your new home will be very cosy in no time!
ReplyDeletewow that is such a long trip but hopefully you will be settled in for the holidays.
ReplyDeleteHanging a quilt to make it homey makes perfect sense. And yes, the little turtle one is sweet.
ReplyDeleteNothing like living in two homes at the same time! When we buy our house, we are hoping to have a month to get moved in, a lot better then having to do it all at one time!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see pix....I know it will be very nice once you get your things there...and really....who cares as long as your sewing room rocks! Giggles
ReplyDeleteYes, I do love the snap purses and the turtle one is very cute...they are all very nice.

I cant wait to see your new home. I love your snap bags. I have one sitting right here by my computer.
ReplyDeleteMoving is no fun I've done it so many times I can't count them all. Not anymore though. You will love making your new house a home. Be safe.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new home. It sounds very exciting. Love that turtle.
ReplyDeleteWhat is a snap bag and what do you use it for? A bit of an ignoramus here!
ReplyDeleteThe joys of moving yourself! The last time we moved from TX to AL and we did it all ourselves with a UHaul. Not fun! I send you big cyber hugs! Hopefully all will go well on the days that you move and you will have great weather. Where is your new location? I know you will have it beautified in no time at all. And I love the turtle one!
ReplyDeleteSounds exhausting! Hope you don't have many trips left! Good luck with your new home.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it won't take you long to bejewellify your new home Barb.
ReplyDeleteSan Antonio's not so bad, if you like city life! I'll just be next door in New Braunfels!
ReplyDeleteNothing like a turtle to make one smile!!
ReplyDeleteLove those bags Barb. So where have you decided to land permanently?
ReplyDeleteHi Barb, I love, love, love your snap bags and your key fobs. I completely wore out the key fob you made for me and bought some more hardware and made more for me. And then my friend wanted some and then my children wanted them. I also wrote a post on the Craftsy blog about them. See what you started.
ReplyDeleteI would hate those eight hour drives. Are you able to read while you are riding? When I go on trips as a "rider" that is what I do.
ReplyDeleteThose snap bags are just so cute.
ReplyDeleteIt's a little different when you have to do the move on your own. I'm sure your homey touch will work wonders wherever you are.
ReplyDeleteI love those snap bags.
One last move...you can do it! Love your turtle design.
ReplyDeleteYour snap bags are so cute. You are right the turtle is sweet. So where did you finally decide on moving to? It is always nice when you can add your personal touch to a new place. I did the same thing when we moved to this house. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the move...8 hours sounds like you just about left the state! Long drive, but I bet it's nice working this out a bit at a time...no house full of boxes to wake up and face one morning. If that photo you posted earlier was of your property, then I can imagine that your husband is one happy man...now all you need to do is find a JoAnn nearby. Not sure if you're anywhere close to Oklahoma City, but I hear the Hobby Lobby Outlet there has some nice fabric too.
ReplyDeleteOh, I do indeed like the turtle one the best! Take care and keep it slow and steady....no extra aches and pains from lifting and moving, OK? LOL
ReplyDeleteWhere are you moving to? Love the snap bags!
ReplyDeleteSo much to do with a move... but I love the idea of you putting up some lovely handmade items to give it a homely feel.....
ReplyDeleteHugz
I didn't know you were from SA! A friend of mine just moved her parents from SA to Iowa last summer. She was born and raised there. =)
ReplyDeletewelcome Texan!!
ReplyDeleteOh my! Moving is the pits!!! It sort of hijacks your life for a time, doesn't it? But hopefully you'll be done before long and back to living your life. Blessings on your new home & praying for safe travels for you all as you go back and forth!
ReplyDeleteBarb,
ReplyDeleteI hope that the new home brings you many wonderful years filled with good health and prosperity. I am sure it will look wonderful once you finish adding all your special Barb touches. Wishing you and your spouse a very happy retirement in Texas.
Regards, Anna
