Not until I put the borders on this quilt did I like it. That is when my feelings about this quilt changed. Maybe that is why it took me so long to get to quilting it, not liking the top.
Then when I started quilting it....the more I quilted the more excited I got.
Here is the results (minus a binding).
Here is the pieced backing. This is what took me all day Friday, that and sandwiching it.
Not a good picture...sorry.

I barely have a scrap left. I need to make two shams to go with it so I better scrounge some up from somewhere.
I need to get the binding done and shams to have this out of my house by next week so it can get to it's destination by the end of March. I think I will make it.... Whohooooo one more thing off my list.....
Love your quilt. I've always wanted to make one like that. I think it has a modern look to it. Beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteI love this!! Did you use one jelly roll? Is it a Moda Bake shop pattern??
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Barb!!
ReplyDeleteI love it, great job. Isn't that the truth, I have 3 tops done that need everything else, and I'm not loving them so they sit..Congrats on a great finish!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt. The back looks almost as good as the front. Way to go girl!
ReplyDeleteWow! That is gorgeous! I can see why you were so excited...that is so beautiful! I love the colors - how do you plan to bind it...will it be scrappy, or do you have enough of one color?
ReplyDeleteI love that quilt. Now I have to be honest and say I would not have chosen those colors to begin with but they really work. One time a really good friend of mine painted her bedroom brown, yes brown. I thought yuck! But it worked. Maybe I should be a little more open minded about brown.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a special pattern you use for the shams, or the "let's just make a sham" pattern. Just wondering ... as I usually make pillowcases to match... love this quilt and the colors. Judy C
