To be honest, I really didn't like this pillow. I loved the flowers with the heart in the middle and ribbon but I didn't like the colors I chose. I was just trying to use up that honey bun I opened for the trash can. In fact I still have some strips left over.
So here goes:
So here goes:
I cut the batting to the size I wanted for my pillow form (pillow form was purchased at a garage sale for one dollar).
This is 32" by 36", you can see that it is folded in half at this point.
Once again, I just start from the end, putting one strip down face up and the other on top face down (right sides together) and sew a 1/4 inch seam. I do this all the way down the batting.
Here you see it sewn all the way down with the flower/heart applique already on them. The ribbons were tucked under the inside of the hearts and sewn down when the hearts were sewn down.
Here is the finished pillow minus the opening being shut.
I really do like the ribbon. Now you see below where the buckle part of the contest came in. It holds the pillow to the back of the chair or bottom. It just annoys me when my pillow falls off my chair when I get up.
For those of you wanting the flower applique, you can either email me or make your own. As you can see it is just a huge flower with a heart out of the middle. I had used this flower before and used the hearts from the middle as stems for a table runner , a tote and cosmetic bag. As you can see, I gave you the link to the runner and cosmetic bag but am unable to locate the tote.

Very pretty - the fabrics you chose lend it a very feminine look, like perhaps it should be scented.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! Good idea to put a strap to hold it in the chair. And I love that you bought the pillow at a garage sale! I have some here that I got that way too.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you didn't like the pillow...it's so beautiful! Before it slips into a deep depression, and you harm its self esteem forever, why not let me take it home? I'll pat it and cherish it, and make it forget all those things that you said.... LOL
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely pillow and it will find a perfect home I'm guessing. Well done!
