I received a comment from a blogger the other day. I can’t tell you exactly what was said, I can’t tell
you if it was a comment or emailed to me directly
I can almost tell you who said it but at the risk of being wrong, (by the way....thanks for the comment)
I won’t. I don’t get paid to remember, maybe if I did, I would???
So the comment was, Barb, when will you finish the Valentines Quilt? Something of that nature…..now….wasn’t this the right kind of push
to get me going in the right direction. To get focused…………………… BECAUSE
Since that message….I just hear WHEN!!!
Go in my sewing room, saw it sitting there…..WHEN!!!!
Go to bed at night…WHEN!!! Driving my son to the airport today, once again the words were ringing my ears…..
So when I got home,
cleaned house, ran a few errands and decided that the time is now!!
Some of you may remember, some of you may be visiting for the first time, and then if you are like me you had forgotten.
To refresh your memory, I took the
insides of the hearts from this table topper
and made a small quilt. Today, I took a running stitch around each heart three times.
Then when I quilted it to the back, I took another running stitch.
Then just did hearts and loops. I did want to say that this quilt is very similar to
Accuquilts Valentines quilt, my hearts are bigger and different. This was not done with the Go cutter. The direction for this quilt is in the pattern for the Valentines table topper, you can find it at Inchworm Fabrics if you are interested.
Tomorrow I will bind it, I will….truly…..but for now my bed is calling me.
Oh...just on a side note, I am thinking of having a giveaway....and it has to do with the experimental Valentines topper that I made. This will only be for those who follow my blog and don't mind a few mistakes....so once I get it bound.....just be ready.
Uh Oh. I think I've left messages of "when you finish". so sorry if I'm adding pressure. You certainly finish beautiful projects faster than I do, and faster than anyone else I can think of. You finish while I sleep! And, there is over a month to get ready for Valentine's Day, so don't rush!

It must have been time. It's adorable.
ReplyDeleteI will be ready! Your valentine quilt looks good, sometimes we all need that little push to get us going, don't we. I am in the process of finishing off ALL my ufo's. wish me luck. Maybe someone will give me a little push someday.
ReplyDeleteBarb, that looks really wonderful,, as if it has matured for a few months!! rofl rofl,,

ReplyDeleteGood job...almost complete...don't you just love it...so sweet!
ReplyDeleteI love it! You quilted that fast.
ReplyDeleteOf course they are both beautiful. I wouldn't know a mistake if I saw it. Honest!
ReplyDeleteNow I really can't wait to receive my kit.....this is going to be a fun topper to make. Great work as usual Barb. Hugs Naomi
ReplyDeleteWe all need inspiration sometimes because we have so many wonderful projects waiting for completion. It's hard to single one project out as the favorite and get to finish it. So good for you! I will look forward to seeing the finished topper!
ReplyDeleteI love your valentine table topper. You are so creative! Looking forward to that give-away...mistakes and all (which I doubt anyone will see but you)!
ReplyDeleteDon't you hate it when someone whispers in your ear that you need to finish something. :) Usually it's me whispering to myself. I have my pattern all printed out and hope to get it cut out today! blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful!! :)
ReplyDeleteI like your table topper and your little quilt!
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Barb. Good for you. Sometimes that little "voice" inside me nags me like that too. Your 2 heart projects are terrific!
ReplyDeletegreat job - how nice to have them done before valentines day -
ReplyDeleteBarb you did a great job. I love the way the heart link.
ReplyDeleteIt is gorgeous. I am glad someone said when.
ReplyDeleteLove both of your heart projects! :0)
ReplyDeleteLooks grat worth the push I'd say. :^)
ReplyDeleteOh sweat Valentine, it's a beauty!
ReplyDeleteSee, now your all ready for Valentines day! Now you can say ahhh instead of when!:)
ReplyDeleteIt`s adorable,you did great job!
ReplyDeleteReady or not...
ReplyDeleteLove it! While I like complicated designs I much prefer those that are simple to make and fast. Plus, when you make an intricate time consuming project you don't want anyone touching it. Your table topper and quilt are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it "great" when someone gives you that little push you might not have been looking for? LOL Then you can't get it out of your head. Now you have a finish though!
I always find that those projects that take a little while to finish are usually the most enjoyable and your table topper is really lovely. Hugs

I love both of your Valentines quilts. I'm glad you got your quilt done but I think you shouldn't let someone make you feel guilty about not getting stuff done. You have to be inspired sometimes you know. And, it's totally fine to leave a project uncompleted and work on something new if you want. I'm glad I found your blog.
