I finished this stitchery....and I have to confess....I LOOOOVEEE IT!!!
Now there is a story behind this next stitchery. Caroll from The Attic Window Quilt Shop read my post awhile back titled ,"The Glue that Binds", and infact there has been several mentions of me putting my foot to the pedal, feeling the wind blow through my hair but I guess this day she just could not shake the thought and so she drew this picture and sent it over to me.
I originally wanted to make it an applique (infact, she recently sent over a pattern to do it in applique). I even made my own but It think her new one is better than what I have going. Well....that being said, since I have come to love stitching, I decided to stitch it up. It needs to be washed but I just couldn't wait to show you.
I am fully clothed tho but not in a dress, maybe a Mumuu, especially now that David is living with us.
I will confess, if I were to be wearing a pair of shoes it would not be the granny shoes you see there (thanks Caroll).....nope...no granny shoes for me. Maybe flip flops....and notice the flower in the hair, I love it!!. Yep....this is me..... Didn't she do a fantastic job!!!!!! Thanks so much Carol, I love this!!
Your bird stitchery is lovely Barb, and how special is your wind in your hair block designed by the gorgeous Caroll! xo
ReplyDeleteI love The Wind in Your Hair stitchery.
ReplyDeleteYour previous post about all the things you wanna do struck a chord here too.
love the lady with her haie going all over the place cute .....
ReplyDeleteI would have done just what she did on the feet - even though I sew barefoot too- it simplifies the design. She had already put in a hand- with fingers! Might I say, she cleverly hid the other hand, giving just enough to let you know it is there.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, please sew clothed - we wouldn't want you to scar David for life! hehehehee
That is so cute! You know though, I know that pedal to the medal and wind through my hair feeling when sewing. Isn't it wonderful?
ReplyDeleteThe stitcheries are too cute! Carol did a great job portraying you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a riot - I love Carol's interpretation of your sewing style!
ReplyDeleteThe stitchery is the cutest, flower in the hair and all! I'm also a barefoot quilter, which makes me very careful to pick up dropped pins.
ReplyDeleteyour birdie stitchery is adorable but the one Carol made for you is a blast! I love it!
ReplyDeleteThe stitchery is fabulous! Would make an awesome blog header!
ReplyDeleteCute.....cute....c..u..t..e....!!!

Love those stitchery blocks!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great stitchery!! You are so lucky to have such a talented friend who knows you so well LOL.
ReplyDeleteCrispy
So glad you are having so much fun stitching away!
ReplyDeleteYour Birdie Stitches is adorable. The stitchery of you sewing is so fun :)
ReplyDeleteI love the Wind Blowing in Your Hair!!!!! So true!
ReplyDeleteYour Birdie Stitches block came out so cute too, Barb.
I don't wear shoes in my house so I sew in stocking feet! It's more comfortable anyway. I also work at my computer all day that way bz it feels better using my foot pedal that way. I love this Wind Blowing In My Hair. I kind of felt like that yesterday as I put borders on a queen-sized quilt. It's all done now except for buying the back fabric, getting it quilted, and binding it. I've wanted to remake this pattern for myself for some time so it was just pure fun to do! Hope you're having a great day!
ReplyDeleteFabulous Barb! Excellent design by Caroll and excellent stichery by Barb.
ReplyDeleteLove the birdie stitchery but I reallllly love Carols design Wind in your hair , that is just too cute.
ReplyDeleteThat stitchery is hilarious!!
ReplyDeleteI stitch barefoot too. ;)
I love this stitchery with your hair blowing in the wind. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteI also don't wear shoes when machining and I take my specs off when I go for a wee . Lovely embroidered block . It is so relaxing to sit with embroidery.
ReplyDeleteBarb I love what you have done with the stitchery. Wish I had known about the shoes, I would have made you barefoot with your big toe sticking up. LOL. Great job. Love your little birdie stitchery too. So cute.
ReplyDeleteFun post, Barb! Lots of barefoot stitchers out there!
ReplyDeleteYour friend Caroll is a genius - that's just how I imagine you sew - it's the only way you can get so much stuff done!
ReplyDeleteLovely to visit and catch up with all your comings and goings - as busy as ever I see.
Take care!
It is great!
ReplyDeleteLove this story and the stitchery - what fun! :-D
ReplyDeleteGreat job stitching the picture from Carol. Too funny. Your birdie block is wonderful, too.
ReplyDeleteCute birdie stitchery! I love the 'Wind in your Hair' block! With that flower I would recognize you anywhere. I love the jar quilt in your header. Was that one of your own patterns?
ReplyDeleteI love your block! It's so funny and has a great description to go along with it. Are you going to frame it or make it into a wall hanging?
