WELCOME TO MY WORK STATION!!

I have taken over the family room (with permission). Yes, it is a mess....been working on some things....lots of things....

Oh...you want to see??? Can't show it yet.

So here it is so far.....Now take a walk with me upstairs.....

Take a look at this mess....

This is all of my sewing stuff that needs to be unpacked. Oh...you say but Barb, there is stuff everywhere and no order.....you have boxes tipped over....

So...call me Mrs.....PIGGY.... I was looking for some pink fabric for the border of a quilt for a project at church.....can I help it if I had no where to put things????? Actually, if truth be told....I can wreck a room in five minutes, organized or not.

My task for today, if I chose to accept it, is to get in that room and start putting things away. I could use that room for a sewing room but that is going to be the guest room. I have a son coming home soon and he needs the other room.

So anyone want to come and be my guest....we can play!!

  1. Getting organized after a move is time comsuming indeed! Of course, my house looks like that sometimes and I don't have a valid excuse LOL!

  2. Oh, that would be lovely! Get that guest room ready. We would have so much fun.

  3. My guest bedroom looks like that too but then it always does LOL. Good luck with your plan LOL.

  4. I think if we came to help you get cleaned and organized we would just make a bigger mess. As we were unpacking all those boxes we would just have to play with all your fabrics and make a project or two.

One of the boys are coming home? WooHoo! I hope he gets to stay for awhile.

  5. Did you finally get all your stuff from Samoa? I hate unpacking. Trying to figure out where to put everything. But sewing is more important anyway isn't it?

  6. Oh, I remember those days of just moving into a new house! It does take time to decide where you want to put everything. And yes, I do want to come be your guest....if it weren't for my bum knee, I'd come and help you get organized! :o) And it's nice that hubby let you have the family room...that bedroom wouldn't have been large enough for your things!

    XOXO,

  8. You will feel so much better when you get it all organized. I am sewing in my laundry room, but I have taken over the closet in the guest room for my fabric stash!!

  9. I still have boxes that I moved six years ago that still are unpacked. I think I should just donate them to Goodwill. They are NOT my fabric boxes, however :o) Have fun playing -

  11. Sounds much moe fun than what I have planned today, lol! I think it's hilarious that we can rip apart 6 boxes looking for that one piece of pink fabric! Too funny!

  16. How nice your son will be there soon. He won't mind a little sewing machine in the corner.

  18. I love seeing sewing rooms and getting ideas but I especially love honest showings of rooms! This will be me in 10 short months when my son comes home and gets his room back. I'll be back to sewing in the family room until another room opens up since he'll be getting his room (my sewing sanctuary) back. Truth be told, I'd rather have him back, lol! Hang in there, it'll be settled soon and you'll be creating and making it your own soon. My sewing sanctuary may look untidy to others when I'm creating but I know where things are so it's okay with me!

  26. If only the boxes would unpack themselves and the fabrics would organize themselves. There would be so much more time for sewing.

Love your button. I put it up on my blog. And thank you so much for blogging about my giveaway. I really appreciate it!

  27. One needs space to get organized. I actually love it when my husband goes on a trip. I will pull all my fabric out and sort it....consuming space in every room. Maybe this is a clue as to why my sewing room is a mess...my DH hasn't gone on a trip in awhile.

  31. It's great to be orgnanized, but it's no fun to do the work to get there. I've learned to live with (and be productive in) lots of chaos. 8)

    Happy quilting,
    Susan in Texas

PS Dare I hope that the falling hearts are only an artifact of Valentines Day that will disappear after the 14th? I'm easily distracted. :O

  32. I enjoyed reading all the comments, seeing what others had to say about your 3 machines, unpacking boxes, kids coming home, and sewing rooms in general. Blogs are so much fun!
Hopefully you were successful with your "Mission Impossible" goal for the day.

  33. Looks like you will have things sorted soon Barb :) It takes a while to get everything out of the boxes and to where you want them. Hugs Vicki

  36. Boxes can be unpacked anytime..and if you keep looking for certain fabrics in them they'll eventually get unpacked and you'll get to do the sewing you want to do....ahhh! method to my madness.
