Well....I don't know about you but I do this!!!!! Been working on it all day!
This is my main diet while my husband had been gone. That stove had not been turned on and the microwave only twice.....whohoooooo....no dishes....no mess.....more free time! Hubby left Tuesday morning, now you know my silver lining from the flat tire...if it had happened while he was gone, I would have surely been in a pickle.
Barb, the quilting design is stunning.
ReplyDeleteLooks great!! How are you keeping your lines so straight??
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Are you going to do quilting on just the white or add a different quilting on the colors?
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing when mine goes out of town
ReplyDeleteIf I got up that early, I don't know if I would trust myself to quilt. I think that I would make tons of errors. Yours looks gorgeous though!! Love the no dishes, no mess... can't beat that!
ReplyDeleteGlad he was home when it happened. Pickles probably wouldn't go well with raisin bran crunch. :-)
ReplyDeleteIs that a schnibbles quilt?
I think I'd have the same diet if I was alone. Not much sense cooking for one! LOL
ReplyDeleteHa ha, you are so much like me it's scary! That's the kind of food I eat when Jeff is gone on business...just throw in some oatmeal and you have my whole menu!
ReplyDeleteThat quilt is awesome, Barb! Love the way you're quilting it!
XOXO,
Cyndi
Love the quilting and the pattern .
ReplyDeleteBarb, beautiful quilt and beautiful quilting... sounds like we all have the same diet when hubby is away.
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to see the finished product :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm alone, I make a big batch of baked chicken wings....I'm not a big snacker :0)
ReplyDeleteCrispy
Your doing such a great job on the quilting. At least your diet wasn't a box of chocolates.
ReplyDeleteI am up at 4am everyday but unfortunately that is to go work. LOL!!
That quilt is fantastic so far. I can't wait to see when it's finished.
ReplyDeleteLove the quilting on this !
ReplyDeleteLove how you are quilting this!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt. I kind of miss those days when DH was gone all week. Retirement does change things. LOL.
ReplyDeleteYou and that new machine are working well together. It looks just great. It really is nice to get a break from cooking once in awhile.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to know your eating well balanced, nutritious food, LOL. Love your project.
ReplyDeleteWhen my sweetie asked if I'd miss him when he went away on a trip, I replied that yes of course. He closed the door and I was cheering....he came back in to tell me he'd heard that!
ReplyDeleteI'm like you, just do what I want at the times I want to do it!
Yipee!
You are becoming the star quilter. I like you new "pink" look by the way.
ReplyDeleteThis is looking great. I think you have definitely bonded with Mr. Big! Love the quilting on this...What a great diet too, no dishes and no mess, I love it, more sewing time! I'm glad he was there for your flat, you have angels watching over you, girl! Have a great Friday and get some rest....
ReplyDeleteI just had to laugh at your post... sounds like what I do when DH is gone! Except for me it's Cherrios and Mini-wheats, but the prezetels, yes! But any 4am no sleep for any reason and I will hit the sewing room and sew. Love your project! Good on ya!
ReplyDeleteBarb, It is stunning!!! and if I had known you were up I would have emailed, I was up too!!!
ReplyDeleteNo wonder you can't sleep! You are carb overloaded! Ha! The quilt is looking wonderful!
ReplyDeletenice quilt! and good way to spend nonsleeping time.
ReplyDeleteGood diet - no mess. I like popcorn too :)
Love the stitiching!!!! Always wanted a quilt with just solid quilting! Very lovely...great colors.
ReplyDeleteVery nice quilt, and I like the way you are quilting it. Crafts are a good way to stay out of trouble, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I've been known to get up and go swimming at the gym at 4am, especially if I'm wide awake and my husband is snoring. I love having the pool ALL to myself. 8)
ReplyDeleteHappy quilting,
Susan in Texas
Barb, it is looking good. Quilting early in the morning if you can't sleep is the best thing to do. I am a very bad sleeper too.
ReplyDelete29 comments? I have to give something away to get 29 comments girl!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to see you are not getting gourmet on us :)
Kelly
I too get up and quilt at 4am, when I cannot sleep. And if my DH is out of town I never cook. Come to think of it I don't really cook when he is home.
ReplyDeleteBut occasionally I do like I did tonight and cook a wonderful meal. And he is so grateful and enthusiastic that I don't have to do it again for another week.
Glad the flat wasn't too traumatic.
I do the same thing when I am home along and don't need to make supper. I could eat cereal for lunch or supper. If I use my microwave it's to reheat something or make hot cocoa. Have fun. Love your quilt. Is it a bow tie?
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is looking just great! There are times when I am so excited about quilting that I can't sleep cause my brain just won't stop quilting! Lol, so I understand the 4am quilting sessions - and the meals of cereal! Enjoy your quilting retreat time while hubby is away. Hope you've thawed out since the flat tire incident.
ReplyDeleteOh my, beautiful quilt and quilting. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI'm also a big fan of Raisin Bran and Pretzels. Just not at the same time.

Hahahaha!! Love the "diet"!! you have got to get a AAA memebership girl!! The quilt looks fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteSo funny, when hubby's away I live on Raisin Bran too, no pretzels, but the occasional Granola bar.
ReplyDeleteBarb, that quilt is just gorgeous! You are so amazing with all the beautiful things you do!
ReplyDeletexo -El
Barb, your quilting is just gorgeous! Insomnia can sometimes be a fun thing!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!! I can totally understand doing that at 4:00 a.m. -- this morning I was up at 5:00, fussy cutting! :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt....beautiful quilting! Have FUN!
ReplyDeleteGirlfriend, you are too funny! Your quilt is beautiful!
ReplyDeletexx, shell
We do the same thing when Hubby isn't home. We eat anything we want and don't worry about cooking big meals.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt turned out gorgeous! I can't believe you are turning the quilt for each block. The results are stunning but I bet that was alot of work.
