Krista came over this morning and brought me this guecko cutout... We had a great time chatting and working on her serger tension.
What did I do later that evening?
Oh yes.....Should I be playing around with this?????
Noooooooooooooooooooooo
You think I could at least put a load of laundry in....instead I go to lunch with a friend.
So....when I get home I pull out all my scraps and start cutting 5 1/2 inch strips and 3 inch squares for the flying geese....
Should I be playing with these????
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Just what should I really be doing?
Maybe clean up a little? I think my husband would think he died and gone to heaven if he came home and the ironing board was put away.
It seems like the minute I came home the whole house blew up in an array of fabrics, iron, rulers and the likes.
So....do you think this mess upsets my huband?
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo at least he says it doesn't...
and...even if it did....you think it would matter?????
I will let you all answer that question.
In my defence, I did go through our stuff and donate some items to a rummage sale for a school trying to earn money..... In my defence (all fifteen minutes)...HA!!
Cute gecko (I do love them!) and I know the feeling of sewing vs housework..... saw a lovely quote at a quilt show "Remember, people will see your quilts long after you are gone..... Not your housework!"....

Apsychologist could probably make something of this you know. You're about to leave, and you're making flying geese? I'll leave it to someone else to work out what that signifies!
ReplyDeleteyou mean that last picture is not what a house is SUPPOSED to look like?
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha... well, a girl has to have her priorities, you know! ;o)
ReplyDeleteMy hubby doesn't mind my sewing mess either - as long as I keep it in my little cave! :o)
XOXO,
Cyndi
Love the gecko! Love is blind (at least in my house)!
ReplyDeleteYour husband must be following this motto.
ReplyDelete"Happy Wife, Happy Life"
Yay for him!!!
It's wonderful to have a DH who is understanding, isn't it? My ironing board is never put away (unless we have company). Hee Hee!
ReplyDeleteFor my husband's sanity, my sewing stuff is all upstairs where he seldom goes. I just have to clean up when someone's coming to spend the night.
ReplyDeleteWhen does the packing start? That will be the BIG job :-)
ReplyDeleteGood thing we both have understanding husbands. The sewing room has now crept into the dining room and hubby just sighs and asks if he can help or if I am making any headway.
ReplyDeleteCute gecko, Barb. I know how that sewing machine seems to call out your name faster than anything else in the house!!!! It's the same way here.
ReplyDeleteOh Barb, you are too funny!!!
ReplyDeletePlaying with fabric is so good for the soul.
ReplyDeleteWell, at least you got something done!!!!! lol
ReplyDeleteToo funny, Barb! I love that gecko! When do you have to start packing? I say do whatever you like until then.
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny. I enjoy reading your blogs. Love the gecko. Let us see if you use it. As for the house...mine looks just like that. What's wrong with that!
ReplyDeleteI love the way the colors change on the gecko.
ReplyDeleteMy Husband doesn't seem to mind a dusty house and fabric all over either. It's sweet of him.
We both lucked out in the DH department. I'm with you and Krista ~ best to enjoy time with friends while you can. That pesky clearing up, sorting and packing will happen...you've got to have something to do at 3:AM, right?!
ReplyDeleteLoved your post... what should I be doing??? Folding that load of laundry buzzing at me as I type, oh wait, it quit buzzing a while ago and gave up! What I'm really doing??? Browsing the blogs and checking out Market and Festival photos.
ReplyDeleteWish I could have gone to lunch with you. Looks like fun to me not a mess but productivity and creativity.
ReplyDelete"and...even if it did....you think it would matter?????"
ReplyDeleteNooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo or at least that's what I'm guessing anyway.
Glad you had a fun day my friend.
Hugs
Naomi
You are just echoing what millions of women all over the world do. We never do what we should do!!!
ReplyDeleteBarb, it sounds like your hubby is a keeper. Keep doing what you love and create, the housework will get done in good time. :^)
