when it is quiet in the house
and no one is around.....
The lights are out! The lady of the house has finally gone to bed.
I think they scrap breed.
Yes, that is right, scrap breed......this is what will be in my garbage at night....
I think they crawl out and this is what I see in the morning...
All I am saying is......I cut out of my scraps, give scraps and what do I get but a load of scraps. What is up with all the scrap breeding???
They are mad at you for throwing them out and not doing anything with them.LOL, They feel left out so why not use them to stuff pillows, dolls toys, etc...
ReplyDeleteMr Hubby is sneaking out and buying extra pieces of fabric you already have and cutting it into "chunks" that he tosses in the scrap bin while Barb is asleep! He knows it keeps her busy!
ReplyDeleteLOL!
ReplyDeleteBarb, you have me laughing out loud. Scrap breed.....a great new term that I will have to adopt. Thanks for starting my day off in a great way! Steph
ReplyDeleteGosh those pieces in the second photo don't look like scraps, they look like good size pieces LOL.
ReplyDeleteCrispy
oh man, i wished i could "play" in that scrap basket awhile.....boy i'd lessen it...
ReplyDeleteon another note, you should sell the big scrap pieces in a bundle...i see tons on etsy
ReplyDeleteI agree! Somethings going on when I'm not looking.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right...scraps multiply faster than dust bunnies!
ReplyDeleteIt does seem like scraps breed! I used to keep all the little scraps but I was getting overrun with them!
ReplyDeleteOh, you have my empathy. It is amazing how these things happen when we aren't looking, but I guess that is better than a fabric dearth, right?
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny!! You are going to miss those beautiful prints from the island, better stock up before you come home
ReplyDeleteIt is a neverending problem....you need to set some traps!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what's up wit hit but when you figure it out, will you let me know the answer? :)
ReplyDeleteGot me, but I have the same problem here.
ReplyDeleteYep, that looked like my basket before I decided to give them away to good homes! LOL!!! We'll see how long it takes for that basket to fill up again!
ReplyDeleteXOXO,
Cyndi
I don't know how they breed, but I can guarantee you my 2.5" strips (all the scraps I save) have multiplied 3 times in the past year.
ReplyDeleteLucky you! Scraps are wonderful. When you get started making hexagons it will eat up a bunch of those scraps. I would rather have scraps than yardage.
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing your neat little pile of strip scraps, I think it would be neat to wrap themn little at a time as you use scraps, into a cute little ball. I've seen rubber band balls, and that's what that reminded me of. lol
ReplyDeleteHappy Quilting!
Gosh, Barb. I was complaining about the same thing yesterday and Emily from Em's Scrapbag left me a message saying that in the middle of the night, while we sleep, the scraps have wild parties and multiply like bunnies! Now you say 'scrap breed', so it must be true.
ReplyDeleteVery funny. Scraps must be the bunnies of the fabric world.
ReplyDeletethat are no scraps that is perfect knitting material. hihihi

I love how your scraps breed and grow! They know they are loved and will be turned into something very beautiful with your gentle touch!

Hi barb!
ReplyDeleteQuick question for you...when you received your GO! did it come with the 4 1/2" square and the 2 1/2" square and the 2" square triangle...this is before you picked your three? Just wondering...
Thanks -Paulette
