Here is my baby in Iraq.....I often think of my grandmother when she got the news and I would think of my son and how devastating it would be for me.
Us mommas love our babies, can't we live in Peace?????
Same son jumping out of planes...This young man was always a daredevil....we never thought he would live to see 3 years old and here he is now flying in the skies.
All I can say is THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! Always praying for this young man and your youngins.....too!!
I can't imagine how your grandmother felt the day she received the news about her son. My son-in-law likes jumping out of planes also. I've never understood why anyone would enjoy jumping out of a perfectly good plane. ;)
ReplyDeleteWe have many brave men and women on both sides of our families. Now, we are getting ready to send off our daughter. Many prayers go out to all who have or are serving our country.

ReplyDeleteYes thank you thank you. My father served in WW 2 and my husband in Vietnam. My cousin's son in law is in Afghanistan. She flew in from California last night with her daughter and 2 small grandsons. She is hoping her daughter will be with her most of the summer so she can help her with the children. A lot of folks are pitching in to help our men and women overseas.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes.....wouldn't it be wonderful if we could live to see the day we all lived in peace?? I'm thinking maybe if MOMS were the heads of all the countries, that could happen...as they could all relate to how they feel about their children. (I can dream...right?) Nice smile on your son's face in that "before the jump" photo!

ReplyDeleteI held my breath for six years while my son was in the Air Force. He was over there twice. At the same time my oldest was in the Navy I worried about him but not as much since he was on a very large ship but spent most of the time on shore. I am thankful that they came home to me safely and thankful that they served our country.

ReplyDeleteLots of plane jumping around here with the 82nd airborne based here! mY LATE HUBBY JUMPED FOR MOST OF HIS ACTIVE DUTY CAREER (24 YEARS).Sorry about caps,LOL! My brother in law is currently stationed here in 18 th corp. God Bless all our sons and daughters serving!

Yes..thanks to all of them. My family has lots of veterans; my dad was in the Army in WWII, my Father In Law in the Army in WWII.
ReplyDeleteAlso had two Uncles WWII, one killed in Germany. Then two Brother in Laws in Army during Korean War, 2nd husband was in Viet Nam, one nephew was in Air Force then reserves for 20 yrs., recently two great nephews; one was in Army, one a Marine during Iraq and Afganhistan.

I am now the wife of a veteran and my brother has been to Iraq three times already....I appreciate what they do....we all should whether we agree with the politics or not....

ReplyDeleteI get all choked up when I think about the service men that are risking their lives so we can be free. We were traveling home yesterday and passed a grave yard in Ritsville Wa and they had flags all the way around the graveyard. It made me proud to be an American. I imagine that each flag represented a service man that had died and was buried in their cementary. Thanks to all those brave young people especially my nephews.
